Max Ockner and the Knights offense too much for the Astros as they clinch the series 3 games to 1. Knights pound out 10 hits and grind out 6 runs capped by a bases loaded triple by Kenny Polanco in the 1st inning giving the Knights a 3 to 0 lead they would never reliquish. Ockner Ks 9 and allows just 4 hits leading the Knights to the victory. Knights move on to face the winner of the Rockies and Athletics series. |

Knights take pivotal game 3 to take a commanding 2 to 1 lead in the series. Vic Mendez dazzled Astros hitters striking out 12 and allowing just 3 hits in 6 innings of action. Marty Dunlap was 3 for 3 leading the offensive charge as the Knights banged out 15 hits. This game got crazy at the end as both managers were ejected and words were exchanged between he teams the entire time. Max Ockner takes the ball looking to close out the series for Eastie. |

Brad Presler made the start tonight, just a day after pitching 2 emergency relief innings! He gave the Astros 3.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits. Fireballer Vlady Camacho would come in and work thru some control issues to pick up the win, striking out 8, including all 3 batters in the 7th inning!
Offensively, the 3-4 hitters stayed HOT! Alvarez was 3-4 and scored 3 times, while Vasquez was 2-3 with 2 RBI. Third baseman Jose Toussen also chipped in with 2 RBI. The Astros would not have won this game if not for 2 amazing catches in the outfield! Peguero made a great catch early in the game, sliding on his knees and preventing a run from scoring and Reyes made an amazing diving catch on a hard hit line drive to left! A much needed W puts the Astros right back into the playoff hunt! |

The Rockies hand the ball to veteran Adam Del Rio, and he did not disappoint. Del Rio goes 5 strong allowing 2 runs getting the win. Reveres offense had several contributors on the day. Tony Iafolla led the attack going 2-3 with 2 doubles. Alex Wong (1-1 BB,HBP) continued to stay hot reaching base on all 3 trips to the dish. Pete Oggeri set the tone out of the lead off spot walking twice, singling, and scoring 2 runs.
For South End, Vazquez hit a home run.
Rocks host Mckay Club Sunday afternoon at Revere High (5:00 PM).

Xael Tejada picks up his 1st win of the season going 6 strong innings, scattering 5 hits and giving up 1 run. Nelson Barreiro finished it off in the 7th, striking out the side!
Offensively the Astros were lead by veterans Chris Deane (3-3, RBI) and Carl Rodriguez (2-3, 2RBI), and young stud 1st baseman Alberto Vasquez (3-4). Young shortstop Frankely Gonzalez was amazing in the field showing off his range and cannon for an arm! The Astros are back to .500!

The Knights traveled to the South End to face to Astros at Jim Rice Field. The Knights Jeff Allison got the call to the bump as the Astros sent their ace Jonathan Matos. The Knights struck quickly in the top of the first setting the tone for the game. The Knights got back to back 2 out doubles from Marty Dunlap and Mike Crisostomo capped by an RBI single from Johan Villalona to take a 4 - 0 lead. Jeff Allison was brilliant for 5 innings and didn't surrender his first hit until the bottom of the 4th inning. Allsion (4-1) did not allow a run on 2 hits and 6 K's. The Knights muscled out 13 hits in a game shortened by the umpires.
Marty Dunlap collected 3 hits and extended his hitting streak to 16 games!!! |

Dave Montiverdi tosses 6 strong to help the Sabers defeat the Astros 3-0 to sweep a day and night double header at Recreation Park.
Montiverdi tossed 5.2 solid shutout innings, scattering 3 hits, striking out 5, to earn his 2nd win of the season
Chris Dion would come in to pitch the last 1.1 innings of the game to earn his 2nd save of the day and a league leading 4th save of the season
The Sabers would strike first in the 3rd. Dionys Quezada would hit on what would be a game winning RBI single to score Derek Pizarro
In the 4th the Sabers would add another. Ryan Flanagan would hit a leadoff double, and Angelo Colucci would hit an RBI single to score him
In the 5th, the Sabers would score Joe Parlow on a Jon Chapman single that was misplayed in the outfield
Flanagan, Adams, Quezada and Chapman had two hits for the Sabers
Pizarro reached base 3 times and scored a run
Deane had 2 hits for the Astros |

Astros young gun Manny Peguero started on the mound for the Astros, throwing 4 strong innings giving up only 1 earned run and striking out 8. Junior Tejada was up next, tossing 2 innings, striking out 5. Fisher College pitcher Juan Uolla finished out the day on the mound with a scoreless 7th inning.
At the plate the Astros were carried by Chris Deane (3-4), Jose Toussen (3-4, 2 doubles), and homeruns by King Julian Alvarez and Alberto Vasquez.
The Astros were down 3-2 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. Leadoff hitter Angel Pena started the inning with a double down the 3rd base line. After a Uribe strikeout, Julian Alvarez hit a laser down the 3rd base line to tie the game at 3. Chris Deane followed with his 3rd hit of the night, and with runners on 2nd and 3rd, Jose Toussen delivered a line drive to the fence in left center field to give the Astros a thrilling 4-3 walkoff victory! |
