The Rockies complete the comeback after being down 2-0. They move on to square off against the #1 seed, East Boston Knights.

East Boston Knights 10, AlThomas Athletics 3
EBK and ATBC met for the 2nd time this season as the Knights took the field at "The Stadium" for the first time this season. Max Ockner took the bump in the home opener for EBK against the gritty vet Bill Clang. The A's took an early 2 - 0 lead as Ockner gave up a double to Freddi Carrera and a 2 run HR by James Katsiroubas. The Knights answered that with 3 runs of their own all with 2 outs capped off by a Victor Lebron bases clearing triple. Ockner settled down after his shakey 1st inning striking out 6 consecutive A's after the Katsiroubas home run. Unfortunately for EBK Max left the game in the 3rd with a strained oblique. Jefry Castro, Shawn Carlson and Jon Shepard came in in relief and pitched brilliantly to shutdown the relentless A's attack. The Knights offense was led by old friend Victor LeBron who was 2 for 3 with a 2B, 3B, 3RBI and 2 SB on the Knight. Mike Oliveira had the play of the Knight robbing big Kat of a sure hit!! |

The two teams combined for 6 errors, swapping leads in the first 4 innings with Al Thomas tying it up in the 5th. Braves rookie 'Ducky' Sammarco breaks the tie in the 6th with a Sac-Fly to right scoring Joyce. Some drama in the bottom of the 7th as Carrera gets to second with 1 out after an error, a missed double play opportunity and a stolen base. Smith strikes out the next batter giving way to a Smith/Katsiroubas showdown to decide the game with 2-outs. After a scary but eventually foul line drive shot down the left field line, Smith induced a towering pop-up in front of the mound. After a miscommunication between the infielders, Uberti makes a second effort diving catch to end the game.
For Al Thomas, Rodriguez went 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored while Carrera and Kostas each had a hit.
