David Lightbody and Billy Karalis would each homer into the right field trees for their first of the postseason. Ted Dziuba collected three RBI in the win.
Game Three will be Friday night at Ronan Park with Somerville up 2-0. |

Lammare Rey gets the ball in GM 1 going 6 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 6 Saints. Brian Tanguy pitched the 7th.
Teddy Dziuba went 2-2 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored.
Billy Karalis went 2-4 withe 3 RBI's.
David Lightbody and Mark Addesa also had a pair of RBI's
Southie sends veteran Steve Hueston to the mound. He went the distance.
Larocque lead the Saints offense with 2 hits.

Brighton Braves 4, South Boston Saints 3
Braves break through first on a Glantz triple, scoring on a Coscione hit to left. Saints even it up on a Tenney walk and a Wojnar double to left.
Braves retake the lead on a Joyce double, Botelho RBI single and tack on 2 more insurance runs on a McKenzie single, Coscione RBI triple and Joyce RBI grounder.
Saints manage only one in the 6th after Braves pitching walks the bases loaded with no outs. Wojnar hits a Sac Fly to center to score Tenney, but Bireley who came in relief gets a shallow pop up to center and a force at 2nd to end the threat.
Bireley hits Oliva to lead off the 7th who eventually scores on a Graham RBI single with 2 outs. Graham gets to 2nd on a pass ball. As Graham takes off for 3rd, Bireley bears down and K's the next Saints batter to end the game.
With the win & Beacons loss, the Braves clinch a playoff berth and Steve DeFusco gets to taste playoff baseball for the 1st time is his 13 year YBL career.

Cummings went all the way pitching 2 under the limit, striking out 5 and scattering 3 hits to earn the win
Luke Geoghegan was the tough luck loser only scattering 2 hits on 0 earned
In the 2nd, Tommy Lenane would reach on a strike three passed ball. Jon Chapman would then lace a single to move Tommy to third, who would score the winning run on a passed ball

J.T. Ross went five innings to pick up his third win on the season. Joe Shebertes pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game.
Luke Geoghegan would take the loss despite battling through five innings. Tenney and Mendleson each had two hits for the Saints.

The Knights traveled to Ronan Park to meet up against Southie for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. New wing Mike Hersey took the mound for EBK and was impressive in his debut. Hersey went 5 innings allowing 3 runs (1 earned) against a pesky Saints offense. The Knights plated 3 runs in the 2nd capped by a Johan Villalona HR. The Saints battled back scoring 2 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th tying the game taking advantage of a Hersey miscue. The Knights came right back in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Jose Paulino scorched a 2 run double in the bottom of the 6th to add much needed insurance. Jon Shepard came on in relief and picked up his 2nd victory on the season.
Kent Graham had 2 hits for the Saints including a double that tied the game at 3. |

After trailing 3-0 and 4-2, the Sox would plate three in the sixth to take a 6-4 lead.
Jared Rooney threw 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win. Collin Geagan pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.
Billy Cather (2-4, HR, 3RBI) and Justin Miranda (2-3, R, RBI) had multiple hit games for the Black Sox.
Dylan Wicks had three hits, while Jon Tenney, Bryan Evans, Paul Larocque and Johnny Hayes each had one hit for South Boston.

Eastie and Southie take to Ronan amid threats of treacherous thunderstorms in the area. As luck would have it, it rained everywhere in Boston and around Boston except the old ballpark in the Dot. The Knights send Jefy Castro to start vs Matt Bertuch. The Saints struck first with a 2 out HR by Bryan Evans to take a 1 - 0 lead. EBK answered with a Johan Villalona HR to tie things up. Southie plated 3 more runs in the 2nd and 3rd to take a 4 to 1 lead. The Knights answered back in the 5th with 3 runs to tie the game at 4. On to extra frames we go. With Jose Paulino on 1st Kenny Polanco scorched a double to left center that scored Paulino. Eduardo Colemanares singled to drive in Polanco for insurance. Jon Shepard picked up the win going 3 strong innings. Knights win in 8! |

Braves bounce back after getting no-hit the night before by collecting 11 hits and plating 9 to even their record at .500 again. Braves took back the lead in the 5th with a Uberti single scoring Sammarco and a DeFusco single scoring McKenzie and Uberti. The next inning the Braves would put it out of reach scoring 4 more on a bases loaded walk to Joyce and a bases clearing double by DeFusco to give him 5 RBI on the night.
A pair of rookies with the Maine connection combine on the mound for the Braves victory. Arms (Bowdoin) goes 6 innings scattering 5 hits with 6 strikeouts, while surviving 6 walks, for his 2nd win of the season. Freeman (Bates) finished it out in the 7th with two pop-ups and a ground out.
Tenney (2B), Evans, Mendelson, Boyce and Hayes all had hits for the Saints. Bertuch had 3 Ks in his 1.1 innings of relief. |

With no Alvarez in the lineup tonight, the Astros needed their hitters to step up. Luis Uribe did his part with 2 doubles, Angel Pena did his part scoring twice on doubles by Toussen and Vasquez, and Peguero added an RBI single for an insurance run.
On the mound, Junior Tejada was great thru 5.2 innings, giving up only 3 hits and 1 unearned run. Flame thrower Vlady Camacho finished off the final 1.1 innings, striking out 2 for his first save! |

John Tenney reached base 3 times for Southie. He also drove in 2 runs.

Savin Hill ends the pitching duel in the 4th scoring 3, but is not enough with Southie's 5th and 7th inning rallies.
Samp was strong for Savin Hill going 5 IP giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. |
