WESTCOTT Wins the 2015 RIIABL Championship!
Game 6, Westcott offense powered their way to the championship. Led by Kevin Stenhouse with 2 more HR's and multiply hit games by Eric O'connel, Rob Curran, Travis Smith and Kyle DiBiasio. Westcott overcame major injuries to 3 starters as other players stepped in playing out of position and played like old pro's filling in.
Westcott's played long ball with 9 Homeruns in the championship series. Kevin Stenhouse provide 5 of those in 6 games. Westcott's starters Andrew Flynn, Doug Hopper and Rob Curran provided complete game after complete game.
The Reds battled to the end but Westcott's Power and Pitching proved to be to much!

Westcott's Doug Hopper spins a gem of a complete game. He limited the Reds offense to 6 hits and striking out 9 earning the complete game win! Travis Smith had an RBI single to start the scoring and Kevin Stenhouse had sacrifice fly to plate a Westcott run. Westcott now holds a 3-2 series lead with the next game Friday night at Paine Field at 7:30pm.

The back and forth between these two teams continues, as the Reds jump out to a 5-0 first inning lead. Not to be defeated easily, Westcott's offense quickly erases the deficit, taking an 8-5 lead as Flynn settled in for what looked like another complete game victory in the finals. Needing just 3 outs and facing the meat of the Reds order, Reds batters showed their poise and determination as the first 3 batters reached in the 9th to load the bases. Pat "Speak softly and carry a big stick" Dorr quickly took the lead back with an absolute blast of a grand slam to give the Reds a one run lead. The Reds also tacked on another insurance run before handing over the ball to Finlay O'Hara who worked around 2 walks to earn the save, securing Griffin Clark's first playoff W who through a scoreles 8th. The series leaves Cape Canaveral Coventry for the friendly confines of Davis Park, Wednesday at 8pm. The series is now tied at 2 games a piece.

After a combined 4 runs in 2 games, both offenses exploded for a combined 28 runs in game 3 of the series. There were a combined 7 HR's in the game, Milan Adams(4 hits) and Kevin Stenhouse(3 hits) each had 2 HR's and Aaron Fenstermacher added one. Westcott's Pat Freeman had 5 hits in the contest. For the Red's Gomez and Minoque each had HR's.

Finlay O'Hara & Doug Hopper squared off in a classic pitchers duel in game 2 of the finals. Both pitchers spun gems, working out of trouble all game. In the bottom of the 9th the Reds ground out some long at bats to load the bases with none out. After a bounceback K from Hopper, the Reds answered with a walk off suicide squeeze by Bill Graham to plate Marvic Gomez to win game 2 1-0.

Westcott plated 2 in the 6th on a triple from Stenhouse and single from Adams. The game remained this way until the 9th when with 2 runners aboard Flynn belted a 3-Run Homer to right to seal the deal for Westcott.

The match up of the top 2 workhorses for innings pitched lived up to the advance billing. Whitefire's Bryan Curran outduels Westcott's Andrew Flynn. It was a classic pitching duel all night between Westcott and Dean's, but a late surge propels Dean's to the victory with 3 runs in the top half of the ninth inning. Brandon Rainville (5 IP, 1 ER, 2 H) and Joey Paliotte (W, 4 IP, 1 R, 4 H) were able to keep the Westcott bats cold all night and allow the comeback to happen. Rainville also helped his own cause with a 3 hit night at the dish. Andrew Flynn pitched excellent for Westcott going 8 shutout innings before exiting in the ninth inning with the bases loaded.

Skyluar Neal tossed a complete game fanning 12 without issuing a walk. The Marlins got their first run in the second inning, as Nick Karalekas doubled, advanced to third on a ground ball, and scored on a wild pitch. They plated 2 more in the sixth when Nelson Morales led-off with a double and scored on a single by Diego Campos, who eventually came home on a Karalekas ground-out. Wescott got on the board in the seventh. Nick Reay doubled home Milan Adams who had singled earlier in the inning. They mounted a threat in the 9th loading the bases with one out but were unable to score.

Bryan Curran Fires a complete game 1-hit shutout with 9 K's, 2 BBs and 1 HBP. Jack Flynn, after spending the game behind the dish, breaks up Curran's no-hit bid with a single with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. Curran helped himself at the dish with 2 hits and 3 runs. Devereaux 3-4 with 3 RBI, Rice 3-5 with a double and 2 runs scored, and Sorensen 2-5 with a double, 2 runs and 2 RBI provided the rest of the fuel.

The Reds, with a flair for the dramatic pick up their 6th victory on the young season. Finlay O'Hara toed the rubber for the Reds, not allowing a hit until the 6th inning. Things got interesting in the later innings as Westcott clawed back to make it interesting. Thats when the Reds turned to Randy Garcia, with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 9th. Randy promptly responded, sending down Azeverde to end it. Brandon Cesino led the way offensively for the Reds, Going 2-3 with 2 RBI, a stolen base and a run for the Reds.

HOPS pick up the first of 3 vs Westcott in the 2015 campaign, earning a hard fought 4-2 win. Kevin Dale threw 6 solid innings in his Rathskeller debut scattering 6 hits,2 runs and a single walk. Dale got out of a bases loaded no out jam in the 3rd thanks to a 7-2-6-4-3 triple play started by Quinten Scott in left, catching and firing a seed to cut down Hopper at the plate. Josh Sokol picks up the win with 3 more scoreless,efficient innings striking out 3. Quinten Scott was active on offense as well with a single, stolen base , 2 walks and 3 runs scored. Harrison Barlow with 2 hits and 2 walks as well. Pat Freeman had 3 hits for Westcott, including a laser off the very top of the wall in left which would have put WHOP ahead.
