WESTCOTT Wins the 2015 RIIABL Championship!
Game 6, Westcott offense powered their way to the championship. Led by Kevin Stenhouse with 2 more HR's and multiply hit games by Eric O'connel, Rob Curran, Travis Smith and Kyle DiBiasio. Westcott overcame major injuries to 3 starters as other players stepped in playing out of position and played like old pro's filling in.
Westcott's played long ball with 9 Homeruns in the championship series. Kevin Stenhouse provide 5 of those in 6 games. Westcott's starters Andrew Flynn, Doug Hopper and Rob Curran provided complete game after complete game.
The Reds battled to the end but Westcott's Power and Pitching proved to be to much!

Westcott's Doug Hopper spins a gem of a complete game. He limited the Reds offense to 6 hits and striking out 9 earning the complete game win! Travis Smith had an RBI single to start the scoring and Kevin Stenhouse had sacrifice fly to plate a Westcott run. Westcott now holds a 3-2 series lead with the next game Friday night at Paine Field at 7:30pm.

The back and forth between these two teams continues, as the Reds jump out to a 5-0 first inning lead. Not to be defeated easily, Westcott's offense quickly erases the deficit, taking an 8-5 lead as Flynn settled in for what looked like another complete game victory in the finals. Needing just 3 outs and facing the meat of the Reds order, Reds batters showed their poise and determination as the first 3 batters reached in the 9th to load the bases. Pat "Speak softly and carry a big stick" Dorr quickly took the lead back with an absolute blast of a grand slam to give the Reds a one run lead. The Reds also tacked on another insurance run before handing over the ball to Finlay O'Hara who worked around 2 walks to earn the save, securing Griffin Clark's first playoff W who through a scoreles 8th. The series leaves Cape Canaveral Coventry for the friendly confines of Davis Park, Wednesday at 8pm. The series is now tied at 2 games a piece.

After a combined 4 runs in 2 games, both offenses exploded for a combined 28 runs in game 3 of the series. There were a combined 7 HR's in the game, Milan Adams(4 hits) and Kevin Stenhouse(3 hits) each had 2 HR's and Aaron Fenstermacher added one. Westcott's Pat Freeman had 5 hits in the contest. For the Red's Gomez and Minoque each had HR's.
Westcott now holds a 2-1 series lead going into game 4, Tuesday 8/25 7:30PM at Paine Field.

Finlay O'Hara & Doug Hopper squared off in a classic pitchers duel in game 2 of the finals. Both pitchers spun gems, working out of trouble all game. In the bottom of the 9th the Reds ground out some long at bats to load the bases with none out. After a bounceback K from Hopper, the Reds answered with a walk off suicide squeeze by Bill Graham to plate Marvic Gomez to win game 2 1-0.

Westcott's Andrew Flynn outduels Sam Vinciguerra in game 1 of the finals. Flynn gives up 4 hits in 7 innings , striking out 6. Rob Curran picks up the save yielding only an unearned run in the eighth. Pat Freeman delivers the game winner late plating Travis Smith who had 3 hits in the game.

In a game where the Reds had just 9 players, many out of position, the Reds win game 3 to secure a spot in the finals. Bill Graham goes the distance allowing 2 unearned runs. Unlikely contributors at the plate Griffin Clark and Austin Pannone set the table with a double and sac bunt to turn the lineup over, where Shepherd, Testa, and Mercado drove in 3 runs to give the Reds a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Reds take game 1 with Sam Vinciguerra getting his first career post season win allowing 3 over 5.1 innings. Graham made a spectacular sliding catch in right to keep the lead intact for the Reds. Mercado, Gomez, Pangborn, & Dorr powered the Reds offense driving in all 8 runs. Pat Dorr got the ball rolling with a towering drive to right in the 2nd inning. Testa accounted for 3 hits, 2 runs and a stolen base on the night. Ryan Pangborn got back on the mound to close out the night with 2 scoreless innings and secure the W.

Corey Walker, in his first career post season start was thrust into the spotlight in the deciding game 3. Walker responded with 7.2 innings of dominant pitching, before giving way to fireman Sam who avenged a game 1 performance, going an inning and a third to pick up the save. Edison Mercado's missle scored 2 to give the Reds a 2 run lead. Diego Campos smoked a double to tie the score at two, but made a costly 2 base throwing error to allow Chris Testa to score the go-ahead run.

With the score tied after 8 innings, the Marlins took the lead in the top of the 9th with Nick Karelekas and Diego Campos each getting a walk, a sacrifice bunt by Alex Hurley, and consecutive HPB of Colin Costa and starter Scott Mello. The Reds then tied the game in the bottom of the frame when Ryan Pangborn was HBP, advanced to second on a passed ball, and doubled home by Pat Dorr. The teams played a scoreless 10th. In the top of the 11th, Campos led-off with an infield single and scored on a triple by Hurley. Costa's sacrifice fly scored Hurley, and they would add 2 more runs in the inning. Skyluar Neal earned the win in relief after entering in the ninth.

In game 1 of the series, it quickly became a battle of the bullpens as both starters were touched for runs early. Randy Garcia earned the W for the Reds, firing 3 gutsy innings of 1 run ball while the Reds were able to get out to a sizable lead. Finlay O'Hara took the ball, with 2 innings in relief. The Reds offense, powered by multi-hit efforts from Shepherd, Mercado, Garcia, Gomez, & Cesino gave the Reds a lead comfortable enough for old wily veteran Graham to toe the rubber for an uneventful 9th.
