The Spartan TRAP win 8-4 and sweep the 2014 RIIABL finals. The TRAP dynasty wins their 3rd RIIABL championship to go along with 5 finals appearances in their 6 year existence. Veteran lefty Chris Babcock went 6 2/3 on the mound for the TRAP allowing just 2 earned runs before Kevin Carey got the W out of the bullpen. Sam Johnson went 3-5 with a double, 2 RBI's and 3 runs. Dan Johnson, Brian Lessard, Chris Rose and Jimmy Dean all had 2 hits. The TRAP went 8-0 in the playoffs sweeping all 3 series they played.

The TRAP take a 3-0 series lead behind Will Dawson who went 8 strong with 7 K's. Chris Rose's 2 RBI double in the 5th inning was the difference in the game. Sam Johnson scored 2 runs and threw out speedy pinch runner Jacobellis in the 9th inning to secure the win. Jamie Degidio pitched a hitless 9th inning for the save and remains unscored upon in his 3 year RIIABL career.

Dan Johnson pitches a complete game with 8 K's and went 2-5 from the plate with a run and 2 RBI's including the game winning hit in the 9th inning. Jimmy Dean had a base hit with 2 outs and nobody on base in the 9th and scored the go ahead run on Johnson's RBI. Smiley also pitched a complete game for the Hops striking out 11 in the loss. TRAP takes a 2-0 series lead.

Billy Graham the tough luck loser throwing a complete game himself allowing 8 hits as well and just a single earned run. Eddie Apice and Ryan Geremia with multi hit games for the Rathskeller.

Mike Dewald gets his team leading 6th win and finishes 6-0 for the regular season, firing 7 innings allowing 2 earned. Eddie Apice lead the way for the HOPS, being just a double shy of the cycle with 4 RBIs. Rich Jenkins with a 2 hit, 2 walk, 1 stolen base day as well. Pastina and Grandchamp both log multiple hit games for the Royals.

Hops get their 15th win in a row, beating the Avengers 17-2 at Woodlake. Ryan Geremia gets his first Rathskeller win going 5 innings giving up just 3 hits, striking out 6, and allowing no earned runs. Dante Blancarte continues to be a rock in the cleanup spot going 4-5 with 2 homeruns and 6 RBIs to pace the 16 hit attack. Eddie Apice also went yard and had 4 RBIs for the HOPS. Matt Borges threw a scoreless 6th in his first ever HOPS appearance on the hill. Kazarian, Pacific and Provenzo all reach base twice for the Marvel Superheroes.

It was a Tom Ready Old Timers night at Cimalore. Former Ready legends Mark Ready, Nick Goodwin, Jay Lague, John Varas and Andy Viele dusted off the cleats and returned to action vs S&S. Mike Dewald gets win number 5 throwing 7 inn, striking out 9 and walking no one. Andy Viele gets the hold striking out 2 in the 8th, then Andrew Smiley gets the save striking out the side in the 9th. Jay Lague picks up where he left off 4 years ago with a 3 hit night, and Jeff Murphy and Griffy Potter had 2 hits each for the Old Timers. Rico Dei pithed a complete game allowing 3 runs for the turf technicians.

HOPS get the win and season sweep of Westcott 10-5 at Paine Field Thursday. Westcott scored 2 in the first on 2 walks and a 2 run error, but Rathskeller stormed back to score 5 in the bottom of the first, on 3 hits and 4 walks. HOPS were able to get Westcott ace Hopper to throw 98 pitches through 4, scoring 9. First game of the season without an extra base hit for Rathskeller as Westcott provided solid relief from Rob Clark anb Ben Duarte. Ryan Geremia and Eddie Apice were 6-9, 4 runs, 3 steals 3 RBI between them. Milan Adams had 2 hits, his last being a Oppo bomb to right center for The Pizza Slingers.

Rathskeller gets the season sweep of WFP and win number 16 on the year, 15-5. Josh Sokol gets the win throwing 8 gutsy innings and contributing big time at the plate, hitting a 2 run single in the 3rd to take a 5-4 lead after White Fire pushed across 4 in the top of the inning. He later homered to right center in the 7th. Ryan Geremia homered and Quinten Scott and Mike Dewald each had 3 hits in the HOPS 17 hit attack. JJ Sorensen (4 singles) and Kyle Allen (2 hits, BB) lead the way for WFP.

Rathskeller gets the win in the first meeting of the 2014 season with their South County rivals, White Fire Protection, 10-4. HOPS were able to get out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first on a Dante Blancarte 3 run missile to right. They pushed across 3 more in the 2nd to build a 7-0 lead. RIIABL hall of famer Rich Pacino was able to slow down the HOPS bats and allow his team to get back in it, but 1 run in the 5th and 2 in the 6th would put the game out of reach and move Rathskeller to 14-2. Andrew Smiley gets to 4-0 on the season throwing 8 innings striking out 11. Hops with 16 hits (Borges, Abarr 3 apiece) while Bryan Curran continues to make his push for league MVP for White Fire going 3-4 with a double and 2 runs scored.

Smiley threw 7 innings scattered 7 hits and allowed just a single unearned run. Dante Blancarte had 2 long doubles a walk and an RBI, and Jay Silvia went 3-4 with a walk and 2 RBIs to lead the HOPS offensively. Veteran catcher Bob Rodericks had 2 hits and a walk for the fish.

HOPS move to 11-2 thanks to a 23 hit attack in which all batters in the lineup had at least 1 hit. HOPS starter Mike Dewald picks up his 3rd win of the year scattering 4 hits over 8 innings allowing a single earned run. Unfortunately for the Marlins, RIIABL's top angler Jay Silvia arrived and netted a 6-6 day with 3 rbis. Fellow deep sea expert Matt Borges also had a huge day going 4-5. Alex Hurley hit the ball hard all day and had 2 hits for the fish.

Rathskeller escapes with a 9th inning comeback after giving up the lead in the 8th due to poor defense for the second game in a row. John Jacobellis sparked the rally in the 9th leading off with a bunt single then stealing 2nd and 3rd. Matt Borges followed with a wall ball double to tie it, then Dante Blancarte crushed a hanging breaking ball into the Warwick night for a 2 run homerun and put the HOPS up 4-2. Eddie Apice with the win in relief throwing 3 innings striking out 6. Vinny Gieck from Dean and Josh Sokol from the HOPS pitched well allowing just 8 hits combined on the night.
