Kendall Chaves finishes the season with a complete game four hitter to earn his sixth win. He struck out 10 and hit two batters. Geoff Lopes had a two-out double in the 6th that drove in Rich Allen and Keith Kelly, who was running on the pitch, from first base. The Maddogs miss the playoffs and finish with 28 points and a 14-18 record.

Joe Shebertes picks up his third win of the year for the Black Sox. Shebertes took a no hitter into the sixth, before it was broken up by Matt Delaney with a solid single to right. Collin Geagan pitched the seventh the pick up the save.

For the Black Sox Bill Reichmann, Will Cousins and Adam Sudbeck would all have two hits each. Cousins would get the Sox on the board in the fourth with the first home run of his YBL career.

Blaine McLean would start for Malden and pitch five solid innings, only allowing the two runs. Joe Klingensmith pitched the sixth and seventh without giving up any runs.

Matt Delaney had both Malden hits, and drove in a run in the seventh, to bring the Mad Dogs to within one run.

Kendall Chaves (4-0) made three enough by pitching 6.2 and allowing six hits while striking out three and walking three. Joe Klingensmith came in for the one out save as the Maddogs improve to 11-14 on the season.

Black Sox walk off in the eighth in a pitcher,s duel that saw both Matt Nicholson and Jon Klein go the the distance.

In the eighth, Ryan Gaffney singles in Will Cousins from second for the game winner.

Cousins had two hits and scored both runs for the Black Sox, while Gaffney had two hits and drove in both runs.

Peter Maltzan had three hits for Malden.

Paul Mahoney (1-2) went the first 5.1 and allowed eight nights and five runs (2ER). He struck out five and walked one to earn his first career Yawkey win.

Kendall Chaves (2-0) finished the last 1.2 and allowed one hit. He came into the game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth with the Maddogs up 6-5 and got Pat Yee to hit into an inning ending 1-2-3 double play. The Maddogs offense was carried again by the combination of Maltzan (2-4 2Rs), Lopes (2-4, 4 RBIs) and Delaney who was a single away from the cycle (3-3 HR, 3B, 2B, BB, 2Rs). Brett Barbati also drove in a run and scored. The Maddogs improve to 7-9 on the season and finish the first half with back-to-back wins.

Jon Klein pitched 6 innings of four hit baseball. He finished with 6Ks, 4BB and allowed 2 runs. Sean Slattery walked four times and scored four runs, while the middle of the Maddogs order: Pete Maltzan, Geoff Lopes, and Matt Delaney combined to go 8-14 with 2Rs, and 9 RBIs. The Maddogs end the first half with West Roxbury on Tuesday July 1 8PM in Malden.

Corey McNamara pitches 6 strong to help the Sabers defeat the Maddogs 7-2

McNamara tossed 6 solid innings, giving up only 2 hits, striking out 3 on no earned to earn his 3rd win of the season

In the 1st the Sabers would strike first on a Maddog miscue that allowed Botarelli to score

They would add 2 more in the 3rd when Colucci and Flanagan would drive in Zelnick and Adams

Graham would score in 4th and Parlow would hit an RBI single in the 5th to plate Schauwecker

The Sabers would add two more in the 6th on an RBI double by Adams to score Botarelli. Flanagan would knock in another himself

Maddogs threatened late in the 7th but Botarelli came in to clean up the mess

Adams led the Saber offense with 3 hits, 2 doubles, 2 runs, and a RBI

Parlow had a multi-hit game

Gouthier had a RBI for the Maddogs

Smith is solid once again on the bump (7 IP, 3 R, 7 K) and the Braves finally get some timely hitting to end their losing streak.

After trading off solo homeruns in the 1st (Robb and Delaney) and 1 run each in the 2nd, the Braves bats woke up adding at least 2 runs in each inning from the 4th to the 7th. Robb (5-5) drove in the first 4 Braves runs with his homer, 1-run and 2-run singles in the 2nd and 4th. He later drove in 3 more in the 5th on a bases loaded triple for 7 on the night. Glantz broke out of an early season funk smacking 2 doubles with 2 RBI, 2 R and an HbP.

Delaney (HR, 2 RBI), Gouthier (2-3, SB) and Marquez (1-2, RBI, BB) lead the Maddogs offense.

After opening up on an extended road trip, the Braves are looking forward to returning to familiar Rogers Park as 16 of their last 21 games are at their home park.

Kyle Breidenstine and Blaine McLean locked horns in this one.

Keith Kelly led-off with a double, and later scored on a ground ball to SS. Nick Tapper would quickly tie it with a big double. He would score on Andrew Billig's rbi single.

The story of the game may be that the Dodgers found an unusual closer of sorts, SS Brett O'Keefe closed out 5 of the 7 Malden innings with plays at short, 4 of them with men in scoring position.

Keith Kelly tied the game in the sixth with a solid 2-out single down the right field line. However, when the throw to the plate allowed 2 runners to move up, O'Keefe gobbled up another ground ball. On the day, O'Keefe would cleanly field all 9 of his chances.

Nate Hodor lead off the Bottom of the 6th with a (too high) Triple and scored the eventual winning run on Pat McClay's single to right. The Dodgers would add an insurance run after Billigs 3rd hit of the night put him on and O'Keefe's first YBL h

Maddogs get solid pitching from Paul Mahoney in his first start in the YBL. Mahoney goes 6 IP with two strike outs and one walk. South End's starter Starling Arias was dominant through the first 6.2, striking out six and only allowing four hits. The Dogs battled back in the 7th to tie it on a Geoff Lopes 2-out RBI triple that drove in Matt Delaney. Maddogs add 2 runs in the 9th and walk off on a fielding error by the Astros shortstop. Maddogs improve to 4-2 on the season, reliever Kenny Chaves picks up the win with 3 innings pitched to close the door.

John Young picks up the win, going all 7 allowing 3 hits and striking out 7.

Alex Wong would work a walk in the 3rd and advanced to 3rd on Tom Englehardts double. Chris Santosuosso followed with a great at bat, eventually knocking in Wong on a ball to the right side of the infield.

Tom Englehardt finished the day 2-3 with a double.

Klein pitched well in defeat, going all 7 and allowing 4 hits.

Crazy game from Braintree HS. It seems like every time these two play each other it comes down to the final out, and tonight was no different. The A's received great pitching throughout, but a few timely hits and some lucky bounces benefitted the Maddogs in the end. Blaine McLean moves to 3-0 on the season, and now has all three of the Maddog wins this season. McLean went 7 complete allowing 5 hits, and 0 ER. He struck out six and walked four. This one ended on a play at the plate with the tying run being cut down by Sean Slattery to George Gouthier to Geoff Lopes (7-5-2 if you're scoring at home.)
