Thu, 12 September, 7:30PM, at Cambridge - St. Peters
Revere Rockies 2, Cambridge Cantabs 0
Quinn Ryan was perfect through 3 1/3 and finished allowing only 3-hits through 6 innings. Woody pitches a 1-2-3 7th for the save. Solid defense led by Mitrou, Tracy and Laliberte was a huge factor in the win. Gary Moran laces a double down the right field line and notches the GWRBI. Kevin Spitz collects 2 more hits.
Lefties Chris Allen and Joe Perna pitched very well for the Cantabs. A tip of the cap to manager Matt Englander and the entire Cambridge team on a great series; a roster full of gentlemen who truly respect the game. |

Cambridge Cantabs 2, Revere Rockies 1
After having a front row seat to the Rockies walk-off win in Game 1 of the series, the Cantabs put up a walk-off victory of their own when Chris Allen barely pushed through a single to right that scored Nate Knowles with the winning run.
In Game 1, the story was all about pitching with Rich Wlodarczyk (Rockies) and Joe Perna (Cantabs) both spinning absolute gems. The same was true last night, with Mike McCarthy (Rockies) and Matt Coyne (Cantabs) matching each other frame by frame.
Good luck to both teams in the series finale tomorrow night. |

Revere Rockies 1, Cambridge Cantabs 0
Rich Wlodarczyk (CG, 9K, 4 hits) and Joe Perna (6.2, 9K, 5 hits) lock horns in a classic pitcher's duel. In the 7th with 2 out, Dave Mitrou works a walk, Ted Tracy kept the inning alive lining a single to center setting the stage for Kevin Spitz to win it for the Rockies with a walk-off blast to the fence.
Solid defense was key for the Rockies with Laliberte, Corson and Tracy each making stellar plays behind Woody.
For the Cantabs, Rausch was a pest all night tallying a hit, HBP and stolen base. |

Cambridge and Braintree got together for the last time in the 2013 regular season for 2 games at BB&N on a hot August day. The 'Tabs took game 1 of the doubleheader behind a strong complete game effort from Matt Coyne. Offensively, Brent Conley (3 hits) and Andy Katz (2 hits) powered the Cambridge offense. For Braintree, Don Ferbert hit a 2-run homerun. |

Cambridge Cantabs 5, Scituate Tides 2
The Cantabs made their annual pilgrimage to Scituate and came away with the W in a very clean game played on both sides. Offensively, the 'Tabs' Jason LaPointe, Brent Conley, and Chris Corde had multi-hit games (2 hits each), as did the Tides' Mike Barthel (3 hits). Cambridge's Peter Amico went the distance and picked up his 4th win of season.
This concluded a very competitive regular season series between the Cantabs and Tides. Good luck to the Tides in the 2013 playoffs. |

Cambridge Cantabs 5, Revere Rockies 4
The Cantabs and Rockies got together on Sunday to play 9 and decided that 14 innings would be much more fun. In a game that likely shaved off years of life from guys on both sides, the 'Tabs ultimately prevailed in the bottom of the 14th on a walk-off double by Nate Knowles.
The Rockies orchestrated an incredible comeback in the 8th, plating 4 runs to knot the score at 4-4. That's where things stood until the Cantabs pushed across the winning run 6 innings later. Kudos to the pitchers on both sides for their great work on a long day. |

In the Cantabs' second game of the day, they started quickly in the first inning by putting up 5 runs, a lead that they would not relinquish. Pitching was the story in this one, with Joe Perna and Peter Kaes combining to limit the Thunder to 4 hits over 7 innings. Offensively, Andy Katz had 3 hits and 2 RBI, while Jason LaPointe and Nate Knowles had 2 hits apiece. For the Thunder, Paul Koslowski had a double and pitched effectively in relief. |

Cambridge Cantabs 2, Natick Knights 1
Two vets of the BMBL in Vernon and Allen locked horns in Arlington and both pitched extremely well. The difference in this one was a sac fly by Jason LaPointe that scored Jason Ackerson with the go ahead run. Allen was at his best in the later innings, retiring 14 of 15 to finish the complete game 2-hitter.
It was a fitting end to a season series that saw Natick take the first game, with Cambridge fighting back to take the second at BB&N, and finally the Cantabs barely edging out the Knights in Arlington. |

Cambridge Cantabs 7, Boston Bombers 6
After trailing for the entire day and being shutdown by Cavagnaro, the Cantabs put up 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th to take a 7-6 lead that they would not relinquish.
On a muggy overcast day, the kind where you sweat merely from breathing, the teams combined for 31 hits. Several guys on each squad had multi-hit games, including a 4-hit day for Lightbody (aka the "Lord of Hitting"). For the Bombers, Cavagnaro turned in a dominant showing on the mound. For the 'Tabs, Amico provided stellar relief in picking up the W. |

Cambridge Cantabs 7, Somerville Senators 3
In the second game of the regular season series between Cambridge and Somerville, the Cantabs got the early jump on the Senators by plating 5 runs in the first frame. The two teams played evenly for the remainder of the game, with the Cantabs ultimately holding on for the 7-3 victory. While the bats were the story in the prior week's game, this time it was the pitchers who put up some impressive innings. Azzarello and Wisner for the Sens and Amico and Lippi for the Cantabs - 2 first year players - pitched very well on a hot July afternoon.
The Sens and Cantabs conclude their season series on July 18 at Trum in Somerville. |

The Cantabs led 7-1 going into the 9th when the Braves' bats awoke in a big way. Braves hitters cranked out hit after hit, narrowing the margin from 6 runs to 1 run in the blink of an eye. With the bases loaded and the tying run on third, the 'Tabs finally ended the threat with Jeff Rausch making a nice backhanded play in the hole at short to get the force out at second. |

Natick Knights 5, Cambridge Cantabs 4
The Knights win their season opener in come from behind fashion behind strong pitching by Richie Figueroa (CG,5H,2ER). After some 1st inning defensive miscues and falling behind 4-0, the Knights dusted off the winter cobwebs and chipped away at the deficit by scoring 2 runs in the 4th.
Down 4-3 in the 5th, newcomer Scott Stevens ripped a bases loaded 2 RBI single to left which proved to be all Figueroa needed who was lights out all game.
Darren Flutie and Ronnie Biagi each added RBI's for Natick while Jeff Rauch had a double, an RBI and a run scored for Cambridge. |
