Martins (6 IP, 2 H, 6 K) loses a no hit bid with 1 out in the 6th and Uberti homers in back to back games to propel the Braves to a win over the Maddogs, clinching a playoff berth for the Braves for the first time since 1983.

Uberti hit a two run shot to right in the 3rd, followed by a Shaughnessy grand slam in the same inning to put the game out of reach. Schools continues his hot streak at the plate collecting 3 more hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI.

The Sabers defeat the Maddogs 9-6 in extra innings, to sweep the day/night double header to clinch a spot for the postseason in just their second year!

Rob MacDonald got the start for Stoneham, MacDonald pitched 5 innings letting up 3 earned runs on 6 hits, striking out 2 Maddogs.

Ryan Flanagan came into relief pitching 4 solid innings, striking out 5 batters and letting up only one earned run on 2 hits to earn the win.

Mike Robinson led off the game with a first pitch homerun into the courts in rf.

In the fifth Travis Adams and Angelo Colucci would both have a pair of RBIS.

In the Top of the 9th with 2 outs, Robinson would hit a clutch RBI single up the middle to score Nick Schauwecker. Jon Susko would add 2 more on what would be the game winning 2 RBI triple to center.

Maltzan had 3 hits for Medford.

Stefan Botarelli pitches 5 solid innings and the Sabers defeat the Maddogs 4-2 in game one of a double header.

Botarelli makes his first career Yawkey League start on the mound and doesn't disappoint. He let up only 2 hits, and struck out 5 Maddogs to picks up his 1st YBL win.

Sam Cummings came in to close out the game, striking out 2 batters and picked up his 3rd save of the season.

Angelo Colucci and Jake Zelnick would lead of the 4th with a pair of singles. After a Rob MacDonald sac bunt, Schauwecker would hit a 2 RBI single. Schauewecker would later score.

In the fifth, Colucci would hit a deep sac fly to RF to score Jon Susko.

Dunlap hit a HR for Medford.

Drew Tambling smashed a Grand Slam HR - his league leading 6th HR of the season to ice a rainy day victory for the McKay Club. Jake Spiak also added a 2 run HR (his first) to make it a 7-3 score. Rain halted the nigth's activity at McConnell in the bottom of the 5th. jack owens chipped in for an RBI triple in the 3rd.

Brian Mylett tossed well and allowed 3 runs after 3 walks for the victory.

Sean Callahan's 2-rbi single gave the Medford Maddogs a 3-2 lead in the 5th. In the bottom of the inning, Hornet starting pitcher Ed DeArias (5IP, 3ER, 7K, 2BB) led off with a single. Pinch-runner Ben Reedy stole second and scored the tying run when Eddie Connelly ripped a single down the left field line.

Hornet reliever Matt Conroy (2K) retired all six batters he faced in the 6th and 7th

In the bottom of the 7th Henry Spitzer worked a lead-off walk. Dave Clark bunted him over to second bringing up pitcher Matt Conroy who was intentionally walked to set up the double play. However Eddie Connelly also walked to load the bases. With an 1-2 count Alex Criscuolo was able to squib a slow roller toward the mound. The great speed and jump by Henry Spitzer running from third had a lot to do with the rushed throw from the pitcher, which was not abled to be handled by the catcher for the game winning run.

After playing Friday night and Saturday night the Maddogs went 9 innings and lost a tough one to the Black Sox on Sunday morning before facing the Dodgers on Sunday afternoon.

Blaine McLean stayed tough after some sloppy play led to 5 Dodger runs after 3 innings.

Losing 6-1 going into the last of the 6th the Dogs put up 8 runs to salvage the weekend. Geoff Lopes, Marty Dunlap and Jack Taylor each had 2 hits to lead the offense. But the story of the day was Blaine McLean going the distance in the heat, allowing only one base runner in the last 3 innings.

The East Boston Knights welcomed The Medford Maddogs to EB Stadium for their first meeting of 2 this season. The Knights sent Vinny DiPierro to the mound to try and win their 4th straight game as the Maddogs countered with Mike Victory. Both pitchers did well but DiPierro was a little better. DiPierro kept Medford off balance the whole contest only allowing an unearned run in the 3rd inning. The Knights scored single runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd innings and that would prove to be enough for DiPierro. He lasted 6 innings before giving way to Branden Eaton in the 7th. Eaton allowed an unearned run in the frame but sealed the deal earning his 2nd save in as many nights. Matt Rodriguez and Chris Dowd led the way for the Knights creating chances for the home town team all night. Geoff Harris and Anthony Ortiz also had 2 hits a piece.

Malden, MA - The Malden Bulldogs used a quartet of pitchers as they shut out the Medford Maddogs, 5-0.

Starter Mike Cook (2-0) struckout 4 in his four innings and the trio of Pat Shanahan, Jon Shepard and Jeff Allison tossed scoreless innings as Malden improves to 5-2 on the season.

The top of the order set the table for the Bulldogs as both Anthony Perry and Luis Lara each went 2-for-4. Perry had a long double to left and Lara added an RBI. Joey Eugenio's RBI double in the 6th added insurance while Kevin Salines was 2-for-3 on the night.

Medford second basemen Cunningham was the lone bright spot as he went 2-for-3 with a walk and made some impressive plays defensively.

Medford started off strong in the first inning getting 2 runs off starter Ray Malagon. The lefty settled in nicely and threw 5 strong innings picking up the win (2-0).

With the Astros down 3-1 in the 5th, Delvis Baez sparked a one out rally with a brilliant bunt to 3rd. Francis Reyes followed with an RBI double and was driven home by a Roger Peguero game tying RBI single. After a ground out to 2nd base, Rommel Peguero drove in the game winning RBI from 2nd.

Joey Ortiz pitched a scoreless 6th striking out 2 for the hold, and Izzy Velez pitched the 7th also striking out 2 and recording the last out himself at the plate for the save...his 1st.

Justin Dietz and Sam Cummings shutout the Maddogs and the Sabers pick up their first win of the season on opening day.

Dietz pitched 5 strong scoreless innings striking out 3 batters and only letting up 2 hits, while picking up his first career Yawkey League win.

Cummings picked up the save, pitching 2 scoreless innings on 1 hit, continuing his success from last year after an injury that ended his season.

Offensively, Angelo Colucci had a clutch game winning RBI single in the fourth to score Ryan Flanagan.

Mike Robinson and Ryan Flanagan made tremendous throws to the plate to save two runs. Catcher Travis Adams did a great job on the other end of the plays.

Maltzan reached base all three times for Medford.
