Perlis pitches a 1 hit, 12 K gem and the Braves bats wake up with 12 hits for the win over the Dodgers.
Jerrad Ryan started the game off with a leadoff double and that's all Perlis would allow. Uberti (3-3, 2B, 2R, BB, 3 BB) and Shaughnessy (2-2, R, BB, 2 RBI) were both perfect at the dish for the Braves. |

Beacon Hill Dodgers 8, Brighton Minutemen 5
Jon "Parkway" Merritt battled through 8 innings to record his 5th win, in an incredible Dodger victory. The Minutemen battled the entire way putting up 5 runs on 13 hits, but defense and timely hitting was the key to the Dodger win.
Beacon Hill jumped out to an early lead only to be erased by 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd by some big hits by Brighton. But BH battled back and put up 3 in the top of the 4th. After a run in the 4th and a throwing error to tie up the game in the 7th, all the drama was set up for Matt Grimes. With one out and men on 2nd and 3rd in the 8th, the Minutemen chose to intentionally walk Steve Defusco to load the bases. Grimes proceeded to crush a 2-2 fastball deep into the left-center gap for a triple, scoring all 3 baserunners.
After Merritt let up the first 2 hitters on in the bottom of the 8th, a fly ball double play erased any major threat, and the Parkway finished off his job. One down, and 8 to go |

A strong start on the hill for Miller followed by 3 innings of relief for Aldoupolis were enough to keep the Saint bats down long enough to end the Dodgers' skid and get them back on track for a playoff run. Mike "DJ Bubbles" Navarro had 2 hits, 2 steals and an RBI.
But Joey "Cupcakes" Patrolia had the big hit of the day with a shot slammed through the moist gap in right center for a 2nd-inng Home Run. |

DORCHESTER, MA.............Knights beat Dodgers in battle of division rivals fighting for a playoff spot. Josh Valerio took the hill for Eastie and gutted out a complete game victory on 123 pitches. The offense did most of its damage in the 4th scoring 5 runs capped by extra base hits by Omar Ortiz and Moises Maza to take a 6 to 0 lead. The dodgers did not quit scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the fram and plating 2 more in the 5th. Valerio then clamped down to finish off the game and the Dodgers but not without a fight. The Dodgers left runners on base in both the 6th and 7th but Josh Valerio rose to the occasion to slam the door shut for the 6 to 5 victory. |

DORCHESTER, MA......The Knights playoff push continues. The sophomore team continues to battle and play tight playoff type games down the stretch. Branden Eaton had the rock in this one and did not disappoint. He led the Knights the whole way not allowing an earned run while striking out 8 Dodgers without a walk. The offense woke up with 2 hits each by thier top four hitters (Higgins, Harris, Dowd and Ortiz) to set the pace for the Knights. Clutch hitting and an all around team effort got the job done for Eastie. |

In what would eventually become a tasty nail-biter, the Dodgers held off a 7th-inning rally from the Beacon bats. "Moose" Breidenstine fought through 6 innings for the win, the biggest of which being the 5th where the Beacons had the bases loaded and no outs. The Dodgers turned a grounder to 1st into a 3-6-2 double play and escaped giving up only 1 run.
Good, lengthy at bats followed with timely hitting helped the Dodgers with most of their offense. Matty Donaghue swung the hot bat going 2 for 3 with a 2B and 2 RBIs. Jon Merritt pitched the top of the 7th, closing out the game with a death-defying pickoff move to 1st base.
For the Beacons, Bryan Curran fell a double short of the cycle going 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and a walk, including a HR into the tennis courts in left in the 3rd, and later a 2-run triple in the 7th. |

Ryan Flanagan throws another shutout to blank the Dodgers 1-0.
Flanagan struck out ten batters and only letting up one hit, while going the distance for the Sabers.
Joe Russo's perfect bunt to bring in Aaron Whittet in the bottom of the second inning was enough to defeat the Dodgers. Russo also had himself a day behind the plate, throwing a runner out and calling his sixth shutout of the season.
Greg Dubela had himself a day as well, going 3 for 3 at the plate.
Starting for the first time in 4 years, Marc Skipper threw an impressive complete game but took the loss in front of a sold out Recreation Park crowd. Villalobos had the only hit for the Dodgers. |

Runs were at a premium at Rogers as the Braves come out on top of the Dodgers for their 3rd win in a row. Martins pitches another gem for the Braves (4 H, 7 K) as he allowed only one Dodger runner to reach third. Cashman's RBI single in the first would be all the offense the Braves would need.
Jon Merritt pitched well in defeat but ended up with the tough luck loss (0 ER, 6 H, 3 K). |

Jon "Parkway" Merritt put together the 3rd straight stellar Dodger pitching performance, going 7 innings and allowing only 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 7 and improving his record to 3-1. For the A's, Cody Clark countered with 5 very good innings not allowing a run with 1 hit, 2 walks and 5 K's.
After falling behind a run in the top of the 6th, the Dodgers struck against the A's reliever with 4 hits from the first 5 batters. RBIs for Whitemore, Duffy and Grimes gave them a 3-1 lead that Merritt was not going to relinquish. The 3rd straight win vaults the Dodgers into first place in the Tony Conigliaro Division. |

The Dodgers offense showed some spark in the 4th as the first two batters reached base and were advanced on a sacrafice bunt by Felix Villalobos. Two batters later, Steve Walsh singled in both runners for all the offense Beacon Hill would need on the day. |

On the mound Ortiz was shaky through the first 3 innings but held the Dodgers to 3 runs. The next 5 innings were owned by Eric Rodriguez. Rodriguez worked his way out of a few jams and kept the Dodgers off the board to earn his first Yawkey League victory.
Kyle Breidenstine threw 7 innings, giving up 2 ER with 5 hits and 9 Ks. Bryan Duffy paced the Dodgers with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. |

Breidenstine goes the 9-inning distance as the Dodgers start the season off with a win as Gregg Smith lays down a sacrifice bunt with no outs in the 9th and Jay Shatto scored on a wild throw to 3rd. While Kyle "Moose" Breidenstine was the leader in the field for the Dodgers, Shatto was the offensive player of the game going 4-5, scored 3 runs, and had 1 SB. Everyone on the Dodgers contributed, highlighted by huge 7th inning at-bats from Matt Donaghue and Joe Baressi, whose RBI single tied the game. Pat McGrath brings home a "W" in his YBL managerial debut.
A great effort by Stoneham in the loss led by 5 strong innings of 1-run ball by starter Aaron Whittet, as well as RBI singles from Whittet, Colucci and Flanagan. |
