Somerville and Malden clashed at Trum Field Friday nite and put on a tremendous show of YBL baseball for a full Stadium!(Comcast Game)
Alibrandis got a quality start from Jon Morse plus clutch hits to prevail 5-3 and win the Series 3-1.
Series MVP Tony Tomaro came up huge for Somerville with 2 hits and scoring 2 from the leadoff position.
Marc DesRoches got the save facing the meat of Maldens lineup with runners in scoring postion.
Malden's MVP of the series Tom Englehardt hit a BOMB in the first that would of been out of any major league park.
Congrats to Malden on a fine season.

Malden - The Malden Bulldogs stayed alive tonight as they came back and beat the Somerville Alibrandis, 7-5.

Tom Englehardt led the charge as he went 4-for-4, with a RBI and two runs scored. Brad Tardugno collected two hits and a RBI while scoring two runs. Despite going 0-for-2, Anthony Perry knocked in two runs with a walk and a hit by pitch.

Jason Paul picked up the win as he threw five solid innings, holding the Alibrandis to just four runs on four hits. Jon Shepard came in and threw two innings for his first save of the post-season.

These two teams will be at it again tomorrow night at Trum Field. Game time is set for 8 pm and will be televised locally on Comcast.

Brighton, MA - The top seeded Malden Bulldogs advance to the YBL semi finals with a 5-4 victory over the eighth seeded Brighton Black Sox today at Rogers Park.

Jason Paul (W, 1-0) pitched well for Malden as he allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits through six innings of work. Rob Mondello came on with one out and the tying run 90 feet away. He struck out the next two Sox to record the save.

Tom Englehardt collected three RBIs, including a two run home run in the third. He finished the day going 2-for-3. Anthony Perry was the other Bulldog to have multi hit game as he went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.

Matt Nicholson (L, 0-1) threw all seven in defeat. Steve Tramontozzi and Andy Kurzon each collected RBIs for Brighton.

Malden, MA - The Malden Bulldogs take a 2-0 series lead over the Brighton Black Sox behind a strong pitching performance from Brian Duplissie.

Duplissie (W, 1-0) allowed just one hit in his six innings of work as he struck out seven in just his second start of the year. Jon Shepard pitched a 1-2-3 seventh to finish the game.

The twelve hit Bulldog attack was led by Tom Englehardt, who was 3-for-4. Both Duplissie and Brad Tardugno had 2-for-4 nights and Evan Tardugno checked with a 2-for-3 night at the leadoff spot. Brad Tardugno collected 2 RBI along with Jonathan Pollard (1-for-4).

Andrew Dewing recorded the only Black Sox hit with a two out single in the fifth. Eddie Samp (L, 0-1) and Jared Rooney pitched for Brighton.

Evan Tardugno (1-0) pitched effectively for Malden as he allowed the Sox just three runs on three hits over seven innings.

Brian Duplissie had the big hit in the game as he became the first player to hit a home run to left field at Maplewood, a two run shot in the second. Brad Tardugno continues to stay hot as he went 3-for-4 with a RBI.

JT Ross took the loss for Brighton while Steve Tramantozzi knocked in a pair of runs as he went 1-for-3.

Brighton, MA - The Malden Bulldogs secured the top spot in the 2010 YBL playoffs tonight as they beat the Brighton Minutemen, 9-2.

Brad Tardugno added to his spectacular season as he went 2-for-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI. The potential 2010 YBL player of the year, finished with a .424 average and the YBL leader in home runs (6), RBI (47) and 2B (12).

Rob Mondello (3-0) picked up the win in relief of Pat Shanahan. Jon Shepard pitched a perfect seventh for the Bulldogs.

West Roxbury, MA - Robbie Mondello's RBI base hit scored Tom Englehardt to put the Bulldogs ahead in the seventh. Jon Shepard nailed down the save as Malden beat the Bluefish tonight, 7-6.

Mondello finished the game going 2-for-4 with that important RBI. Brad Tardugno continued his torrid pace as he added two more RBI's in his 2-for-3 performance. That brings his YBL leading total to 45 on the season. Anthony Perry also checked in with a 2-for-3 night at the dish.

Jason Paul started for Malden. Paul allowed six runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out nine. Patrick Shanahan pitched a scoreless sixth to record his sixth win of 2010.

For West Roxbury, Matt Dannenhoffer settled down after the first inning and held the Bulldog offense to just six runs. Matt Venzia (3-2) took the loss as he pitched the final two innings.

Somerville, MA - Paul Covelle Jr. connected for his first YBL Home Run as the Bulldogs beat the Cyclones, 6-4.

Covelle, an upcoming senior at Malden Catholic, went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI - He also lifted a RBI sacrifice fly.

Both Brad Tardugno and Mike Terrio had perfect days at the dish. Tardugno went 3-for-3 with a 2B and RBI, while Terrio was also 3-for-3 with a 3B and RBI.

Rob Mondello picked up the win for Malden and Chris Dion recorded his first save of 2010.

Malden, MA - Evan Tardugno pitched a complete game as he led the Bulldogs to their 21st win of 2010.

Tardugno allowed only one run on six hits and struck out eight Dodgers. He improves his 2010 record to 5-1.

Anthony Perry guided the Malden attack as he had a solid night at the dish going 2-for-2 with two runs scored, a stolen base and a hit by pitch. Joey Eugenio, Ken Olisky and Tom Englehardt collected a RBI each on the night.

For Beacon Hill, Jay Shatto crossed the plate on Mike Navarro's RBI hit to right and Nick Tapper reached base in all four plate apperances (2 HBP, 1B, E6). Kyle Briedenstine took the loss and falls to 4-6 on the season.

Ken Olisky (6-0) pitched well for Malden. He tossed five innings allowing the Black Sox to score three runs (one earned) on two hits while striking out five. Jon Shepard was able to escape a tough jam in the seventh to earn his sixth save.

Steve Tramontozzi led the Black Sox as he was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Jared Rooney took the loss on the mound for Brighton.

Revere got a RBI base hit from Chris Santosusso, who finished 2-for-3, and a Sacrifice Fly from Adam Del Rio to account for all their runs in the fourth.

Kevin Christina and Marshal Miller (2-2) pitched well for Revere.

Somerville, MA - Patrick Shanahan struck out tweleve Cyclones as the Bulldogs went on to win, 7-1.

Shanahan (5-0) allowed only one hit, a Sam Kennedy-Smith sinlge in the second, over his six innings of work. He issued three walks and hit a batter. Jon Shepard pitched the seventh and allowed an unearned run.

Malden was led by Mike Terrio and Anthony Perry. The duo combined to go 7-for-10 in the top two slots in the order. Brad Tardugno added a solid 2-for-3 night with a RBI and Luis Lara went 2-for-4 in the nine hole.

For Winter Hill, Christan Barros was 1-for-2 with a RBI and Kennedy-Smith went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

The Dodgers and Bulldogs put on a show at Maplewood, playing 10 innings to settle a stalemate due to great pitching and solid defense from both squads.

Kyle Breidenstine pitched 9 2/3 innings of shutout ball to earn his 3rd win of the year. 'The Moose' was back to his old form on a humid night, allowing only 3 hits while striking out 4, walking 3 and getting 16 groundball outs.

Malden got a solid couple out of starter Jason Paul, then great bullpen work from Ken Olisky and Jon Shepard. The Dodgers threatened in the 5th (bases loaded, 1 out) and 7th (1 out Steve Walsh 2B), but Olisky got out of both jams.

The only run came on a shot off of the bat of DH Steve DeFusco. DeFusco hit a 10th inning solo HR to left-center field to take the lead. DeFusco then came on to pitch with 2 on and 2 out in the 10th. After a HBP, DeFusco calmed down to get the K and the save.

Malden, MA - Patick Shanahan threw a gem as the Malden Bulldogs beat the Somerville Albrandis tonight, 5-1.

Shanahan struck out nine batters over his six innings of work. He only allowed one unearned run and two hits. Jon Shepard got the final three outs to secure Malden's 15th victory of 2010.

Brad Tardugno's three run home run in the first off of Sean Gildea provided enough offense for the first place Bulldogs. Hunter Caron and Anthony Perry both went 2-for-3 with a RBI.

With the win, Shanahan improves to 4-0 on the season while Gildea falls to 4-1.

Malden, MA - Jonathan Pollard and Brad Tardugno connected for home runs as the Malden Bulldogs beat the visiting South Boston Saints 15-3 tonight.

Both Pollard and Tardugno's homers came in the nine run fifth. Pollard's was a three run shot to left-center while Tardugno had a two run bomb to right-center. Pollard finished 1-for-4 with four RBIs and Tardugno went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Rookie Hunter Caron continues to shine as he had a solid 2-for-3 night, including a stolen base. Tom Englehardt collected two triples in his laser show performance, 3-for-4 with a double, two triples and two RBIs.

On the mound, Jason Paul took care of business as he tossed five scoreless innings striking out six while allowing just one walk. He improves his record to 4-0 and lowered his ERA to an impressive 0.34.

Malden, MA - Jon Shepard got out of a bases loaded, no body out jam in the sixth as the Malden Bulldogs defeat the South End Astros tonight, 12-7.

This was the second straight game in which Shepard was faced with a bases loaded, no out situation. He preserved the victory for Ken Olisky (4-0) who threw five innings striking out seven and allowing four runs on five hits.
After getting out the jam in the sixth, Shepard struck out the side in the seventh.

Hunter Caron had a big day at the plate. Caron was 1-for-1 with 3 RBIs and three walks. Brian Duplissie knocked in 2 on his 2-for-4 day, including a key two out, two RBI double in the sixth. Jonathan Pollard was 1-for-2 with three walks and Anthony Perry had a solid 3-for-4 night.

Malden, MA - The Malden Bulldogs rebounded from a tough loss to beat the Savin Hill Hornets tonight, 6-3.

Starter Patrick Shanahan (3-0) allowed just one run over his five innings while striking out seven batters. Recently named YBL Player of the Week, Ken Olisky threw the final two innings for the now 10-2 Bulldogs. Olisky allowed just one earned run on three hits and struck out three.

Mike Terrio had the big hit for Malden as his second inning base hit scored two runs to make the score 4-0. Terrio finished the night going 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Also adding a 1-for-2 performance was Joey Eugenio.

Gary Kaye and Alex Michel had RBI hits for Savin Hill.

Beacons defeated Malden 6-5 at McConnell in another stress-filled encounter. The Beacons took a 5-0 lead in the 3rd. BUT - Malden never walks away from the park with out a fight. The Bulldogs plated 2 runs in 4th and 3 in 7th to tie it up. Bryan Curran settled things by smashing a single to left to ice the win in the bottom of the 7th.

Malden, MA - The Malden Bulldogs continue to win as they beat the Winter Hill Cyclones tonight, 8-0.

Ken Olisky pitched six innings of shut out baseball as he struck out six and walked two on way to his third win of 2010. Jon Shepard kept the shut out intact with his scoreless inning of relief.

Evan Tardugno led the nine hit attack for Malden as he was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Joey Eugenio added a RBI on his 2-for-3 performance and rookie Hunter Caron went 1-for-1 with a RBI as well.

For Winter Hill, Jay Thomas collected two hits as he went 2-for-3 at the dish.

Malden improves to a league best, 9-1 while Winter Hill falls to 4-4-1 in 2010.

Dorchester, MA - Patick Shanahan struck out fourteen batters as Malden improves to 8-1 with a 10 to 3 win over Savin Hill tonight.

The left-handed Shanhan (2-0) pitched all seven innings giving up just three runs on four hits and issuing just three walks. He also struck out the side in four consecutive innings.

Brad Tardugno connected for his first Home Run of the season in the second, a two-run shot. He finished the night 1-for-3 with three RBI's and two runs scored.

Brandon O'Connell and Dave Clark had RBI hits for the Hornets, who now fall to 1-8 in 2010.

Malden, MA - Evan Tardugno pitched six solid innings as the Malden Bulldogs won their seventh straight, beating the McKay Club Beacons tonight by a final of 3-2.

Tardugno faced just 23 batters on the night, striking out four and issuing one walk. Jon Shepard allowed one run in the seventh but stranded the tying run at second for his second save of 2010.

Anthony Perry jump started the Bulldog offense as he went 2-for-2 with a run scored and a triple. He was replaced by Robbie Mondello who scored a run and had a key RBI base hit in the fifth.

Malden, MA - The Malden Bulldogs won their sixth straight as they held on to beat the West Roxbury Bluefish tonight, 6-4.

Patrick Shanahan started for Malden striking out nine over his 5.2 innings of work. Newcomer Jon Shepard earned his first Yawkey League save as he pitched 1.1 innings striking out three.

Shepard came in for Shanahan in the sixth with the tying run at second. Shepard used just five pitches to record the strike out and perserve the win.

Brad Tardugno led the offensive attack for the Bulldogs as he knocked in four runs with his perfect 3-for-3 performance at the dish.

Marc Hordon connected on a 1-1 offering from Shanahan in the fourth for his first Home Run of 2010.

Ken Olisky (2-0) got the victory on the hill as he pitched five innings allowing just one earned run and striking out seven. Patrick Shanahan came on to close the door as he earned his second save.

Anthony Perry went 3-for-4 and knocked in two RBIs to pace the Bulldog offense. Both Mike Terrio and Chris Deane added RBI hits to account for the remainder of the scoring for Malden.

Bulldogs starting pitcher Evan Tardugno (1-0)allowed just three hits in his complete game shutout performance. Tardugno also fanned 8 while issuing zero walks and a hit batsman.

Mike Terrio and Kenny Luongo collected five RBIs each while Tom Englehardt went 4-for-4 at the plate. Also recording a perfect night at the plate were Chris Deane, Zack Thompson and Luongo.

Evan Hudson, Evan Schein and Ryan Gill registered hits for the Braves.
