Scituate advances to the final in a game where everything went right for the Tides, and all went wrong for EB. Monti (7IP) and Derek Happas combine on the bump for the 3-hit shutout.
Congratulations to East Boston on a terrific season. Both sides expected a close battle to the end, but it was just one of those nights. |

Jeremy Winters with a walk off RBI single in the bottom of the 9th wins it for Scituate. Rob Monti was dealin, going the distance with 20, yes 20, K's. One mistake to Demartinis in the 8th that was sent into orbit for a two run homer.
Cavagnaro pitched very well for EB, keeping the Tides off balance for most of the day.

Pitching carried the day again as Scituate completes the sweep at Lexington HS. Tim Hart allowed just 2 infield singles in the 3rd and did not allow a ball to leave the infield all night. He finished with 12 K's.
After a rough 1st inning Don Lindsay settled in pitched extremely well for North Andover. |

Well pitched and played game at Scituate High School. Rob Monti, battling the flu, deals a 2-hit gem, going the distance while fanning 15.
Mike Johnson for North Andover was tremendous as well, holding the Tides to 6 hits.
However, the true MVP's of the day were JL Murphy and Dan O'Brien, who arrived at the ballpark at 7AM and got the field ready to play after 4 inches of rain yesterday. Without their efforts we most certainly would not have played today. Super job boys. |

Tides sweep game two of the twin bill by the same score, 4-3. Tim Hart settles in after the 1st and pitches the final 6 innings one error short of perfect, facing the minimum of 18.
Gainey with 2 RBI single in bottom of 6 to put the Tides ahead. Linn also with big RBI single in 6th.
Guthrie threw very well for the Pirates. |

Tides bats come alive in what turned out to be a beautiful day at Scituate High School. Dakota Happas (4 for 4, 5R), Winters (4 for 5, 5 RBI), Stone (2 for 4, 5 RBI), Monti (HR, 3 RBI), Khoury (HR, 3 BB), and Banks (2 for 3) do most of the damage. Dave Iava, making his 09 debut with a high ankle sprain, pitches very well until tiring in the 7th. Anderlionis comes in to pitch the final 2 innings cleanly.
Lewis (3 for 4) and Hong (2 for 4) had good days at the plate for Lexington. |

A Monti vs Godfrey battle where the Tides pull it out in the bottom of the 9th. Godfrey almost single handedly beat the Tides with 10 fielding assists, 1 put out, and 9 K's. Then, he singled in the 8th, stole 2nd and 3rd, and scored the Bombers lone run on a sac fly by Nugent. But Scituate finally responds in the bottom of the 9th with an RBI single by Gainey and a game winning sac fly by Dakota Happas, bringing home brother Derek Happas. Monti picks up the win scattering 6 hits with 12 K's.

Blaine pitched well in defeat. Ryan (3-4, 2 2B) and Flutie (2-4) had good days at the plate for Natick. |
