The Grays and Black Sox went toe to toe and Dave Hescock and Frank Nellenback both pitched gutsy games and came out even after seven...It took some good fortune and timely hitting to pull ahead but.........
Capt. Dan Hamilos once again closes the door coming in and throwing a perfect game as he retires every batter he faced...no walks/no hits....11 up/11 down in an amazing performance as he secured the win for the Grays.
George Laws should also be mentioned for his work with the field prior to this one. His efforts where commendable. It was hot, but a great day for base ball in the beautiful town of Winthrop. Classy guys and a classy game all around.... |

A beautiful day for baseball....Both teams overcame player shotages and scored plenty of runs. But the Grays came out on top in walk off fashion... The Grays and the Lugnuts both played with heart and class.... Josh Ernstoff goes seven strong but Dan Hamilos takes the win and kudos to Steve Pinner who gets the walk off hit and RBI..... |

The Grays did a great job tonight doing the little things to get out of a few jams. They turned in three double plays and stranded 14 base runners for the Warriors who played a great baseball game in their usual fashion. Great Game to watch on both sides of the field......thanks to all our fan last night for coming down to cheer on the home town team..... |

The Weymouth Grays overcame several errors to holdback the Orioles 6-3 in a game played at Ryan Field last night in Charlestown under the lights. Jeremy Spera jumped off of a plane and made it to the field in Mirabelli esque fashion and pitched a crafty game but he would be overshadowed by the player of the game "Frank Nellenback" who tossed a no hitter in to the fifth inning before it was broken up by Wellesley's "Jones" who singled.
Frank Nellenback also helped his own cause leading the grays going 1 for 3 with a double and recording his 100th lifetime hit in the MABL/MSBL.... Congratulations to Frank for accomplishing this tremendous accomplishment!!! |

Hunter from the Mets threw a gem, but the Grays bats teamed up with some fortunate/misfortune and a few clutch performances at the end and the Grays where able to pull it out in walk off fashion as Aundria Burcy tripled in two to tie and then Dan Gomes singled in the winner in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. But all in all it was a beautifully played game on both sides of the diamond. Eric Bennet threw a one hit shutout through four and Dan Hamilos was flawless. The grays rallied together and the whole team contributed. Truly a team victory for the Weymouth Grays inaugural game at their new field in Weymouth(Libby Field-accross from Town Hall) |
