Sox end four game losing streak with a solid win over Al Thomas. Jared Rooney went the distance to pick up his 7th win of the season.

Offensively for the Sox, Billy Reichmann had 3 hits including two doubles, while Richie Joyce chipped in with 2 hits.

Ryan Dauley pitched well for Al Thomas before being lifted in the sixth after the first two base runners reached.

Offensively for Al Thomas, Ricky Salvucci had three hits including a double.

Although he would add a 2nd RBI later in the game, Nate Laliberte's run scoring single in the first was all the Rockies would need on the day. Laliberte turned in a a two hit, 2 RBI performance. Gary Moran and Dan Jalbert also added 2 hits a piece. Excellent pitching and defense took care of the rest.

Nicholson pitched very well for the Sox, throwing a complete game and making very few mistakes, but took a tough loss.

Braves win 2 in a row as Kyle Darrow tosses 5 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, 4 BB and 5 K's to pick up his second win.

The Braves offense capitalized on numerous walks to take the lead early. Andrew Koris hit his first career Grand Slam to cap off the scoring in the 3rd. Evan Hudson (3 R, 2 RBI, SB) and Jeff Cashman (R, 3B, 4 RBI) lead the Braves offense with 2 hits each.

Varakis, Reichmann, Jacobson and Gentile had the hits for the Sox.

Captain Jack Owens smashed a tumutuous 3 run homer in the 6 run 2nd. Owens 2 for 4. Ryan Oshima kept up his solid hitting by going 2 for 3.

A huge win that keeps the Beacon's playoff hopes alive.

Dodger 1B Nick Tapper went 4-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI and catcher Bryan Duffy went 2-for-4 with a HR and 3 RBI to lead Harbor Point past the Black Sox 12-9.

Dodger starter Steve DeFusco (W, 4-2) pitched a solid game (6 IP, 5 ER, 4 BB, 2 K) while having a great night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a 2B, an SB and 2 RBI. The Dodgers pounded out 14 hits on the night from 8 different players. 2B/LF Joe Patrolia had a 2-for-3 night, with his 8th double of 2009.

Black Sox SS Grey Goodrich had a HR on a 2-for-2 night with a walk and an HBP. 2B Kyle Ross and RF Steve Tramontozzi both added 2 hits for Brighton.

Dodger pitcher Chris Michienzi had to come on to get the 2-out save in the 7th as the Sox got the potential tying-run to 1st base after trailing by 5 runs.

The Bulldogs came back from a 6 to 1 deficit to score 1 in the 5th and 3 each in the 6th and 7th.

Luis Lara's (3-4) single in the 7th plated Steve D'Entremont and Joey Eugenio with the tying and go ahead runs.

Joey Eugenio, Lara, Tom Englehardt, had multiple hits to lead the Bulldog offense.

Jeremey Marion had a huge bunt that helped continue a rally in the 6th.

Rob Mondello got the win. He got out of a huge jam in the 4th. Da Wiz got the save.

Jared Rooney pitched well for the Sox and deserved a better fate.

The Dodgers scored early and often to get out in front of the Brighton Black Sox in what would be a rain-shortened game at Rogers Park. Kyle Breidenstine (W, 3-1) pitched all 5 innings for the Dodgers, allowing 3 hits and 1 unearned run while walking 3 and striking out 7 in the 6-1 win.

Harbor Point SS Jerrad Ryan (3-3, 2 R, SB) and 2B Gregg Smith (3-3, 3B, 2 RBI) led the offense with big nights. LF Steve Walsh (1-3, R), CF Jay Shatto (1-3, 2 R, 2B, HBP) and rookie RF Kevin Skop (1-3, 2 RBI) all played great games for the Dodgers. The top 5 in the Dodger' order were relentless all afternoon, while C Bryan Duffy added a sac-fly RBI and called a great game behind the plate.

The game was called in the Dodgers half of the 6th inning, when lightning and rain forced the stoppage.

Adam Kulis (1-1) pitched 7 innings for the McKay Club and ditto for Matt Nicholson (1-2) of the Brighton Sox. Both pitchers deserved to win this game at frosty - damp Rogers Park. But, the McKay Club was able to etch out 3 runs (2 in 2nd/1 in 5th) to win 3-0.

Connor Reinfurt was 2 for 3 with an RBI in the 5th and red hot Dustin Esposito had another RBI double in the 2 run 2nd for the Beacons.

Brighton Sox "D" was on tonight. They pulled off two brilliant double plays to shut down Beacon rallies!

The South Boston Saints defeated the Brighton Black Sox 4-0 on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Rogers Park in Brighton.

Jim Farell cruised through seven innings to pick up the complete game shutout. Farell, who only struck out two batters, used pin-point control to quickly move through the Brighton batting order, and he was assisted by sure-handed South Boston fielders who did not commit an error.

Rob Linn and Ben Mendelson led the Saints offense with three hits each, as both hitters also doubled and drove in two runners. Greg Schwind added a hit while swiping two bags. Currently, Linn is unconscious at the plate with ten hits in the first four games.

Cam Owens and Spencer Jacobson added two hits each for the Brighton (2-3). Starting pitcher Steve Kolwicz went the distance by keeping the majority of South Boston hitters off-balance.

South Boston (3-1) now looks to the South End Astros on Tuesday at Jim Rice Field.
