McKay Club win streak hits 4 as they remain alive in the play off hunt. Dan Gomez came up very large and pitched a complete game and also went 2 for 4, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.

Drew Tambling was 3 for 4 with a triple. John Fidalgo came on late in the game and was 2 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI. Frank Yavorski was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI & 2 runs scored. Andy McAllister had a nice night as well going 2 for 3 with 2RBI.

Kevin Christina went out with a bang in his regular season finale, notching 10 Ks and allowing only 2 hits and 0 runs through 6 innings. The Brewers offense was far from stellar, but good enough to capitalize on this significant pitching effort.

Matt Deeb was 2-3 with a 1 run scored and 2 SBs on the day.

Jonathan Fitzsimmons put forth a strong start, allowing only 1 run and 3 hits over 4 innings of work.

20th Anniversary was a BIG success!
Somerville tossed out 7 pitchers to combine for a 2-hit shutout.....Our Manager Mike Powers started the game and Derek Bates close with his 1st save of the year. Szathmary, Morse, Liederman, Sullivan and Rigarzo also pitched.
The Hornets of Savin Hill played gamely lead by Leschanis who pitch well in defeat.
Mike Feetham had two hits for Alibrandis and Sal Mendonca had the only RBI.

Ken Kilduff continues the Rockies strong pitching as of late, taking a no-hitter into sixth inning. Rich Dumas finishes up the last 1 2/3 innings in releif to pick up his 3rd save.

Gary Moran goes 3-4 to lead the Rockies bats. Chad Conner reaches base 3 times with a hit, walk and HBP. Steve Corda gave Revere a cushion with a 3 run homer in the sixth.

A great game on both sides. John Maryanski and Jay Wisner were the story tonight.

Maryanski played a Gold Glove hot corner saving runs all night!

Da Wiz entered the game in the 6th to relieve Olsiky (W) with the bases loaded and 1 out. He got Dave Bonnell to grand into a 4-6-3 DP to end the inning.

Savin Hill loaded the bases with one out in the 7th. Da Wiz got a strike out and a great defensive play by Donkey Rio in right off the bat of Hoder ended the close game!

Whew! Play-off type base ball at Savin Hill tonight!

Another pitcher's duel at Trum field tonite.
Cyclones starter Mike Sciarappa went 7.1 striking out 13 and allowing 1 earned run, before turning the ball over to rookie pitcher Blake Yee. Yee goes 1.2 innings and earned his first YBL win in a come back victory for the Cyclones.

Savin Hill starter Matthew Conroy went 6.1 allowing 1 earned run before turning the ball over to Matt Chase who took the loss in the bottom of the 9th.

The Cyclones offense came to life late with a 1 out double by Pat Sueltenfuss, but the hero was 2nd baseman Christian Barros who went 3-4 with the game tying rbi double in the 7th and who then scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th after leading off w/a single.

Gary Kaye's two-out single to center scored two runs to tie the game in the fifth. The hit was the only ball in the inning the Hornets managed to get out of the infield off of Medford starter, Sean Gildea. Gildea had allowed no hits in the first four innings.
Mike Bivas singled in the go ahead run in the seventh and later Nate Hodor's single proved to be the game winner.
Hornet's closer, Matt Chase gave up three straight singles to start the bottom of the seventh. However, Matt never really starts to pitch until things get scary. He retired the next three batters stranding the tying run on third base for his third save of the year.
NIck Young recorded his first win of the season pitching four innings of scoreless relief.

Savin Hill visited Ronan for game 2 of the 2009 neighborhood rivalry. They met a young man on the bump by the name of Frank Yavorski. Frank is a YBL rookie. A raw talent...even his manager had little knowledge of his ability. But, Frank made his mark in his 1st YBL start. He K'd 10 Hornets allowed only 4 base hits and no runs in 6 solid innings.

Yavorksi was not the only story. Andy McAllister had a good night with 2 hits in 3 trips with a run scored. Mike Barthel (1 RBI) & Connor Reinfurt (2 RBI) chipped in with extra base hits. John Fidalgo & Ryan Oshie had RBI hits as well.

Drew Tambling added to his amazing '09 season by stealing home unmolested in the 5th inning! Tambling is leading the way in the YBL with 21 bag snatchers thus far.

Gary Kaye went 2 for 4 for the Hornets as well.

This one was a nail-biter from beginning to end. Savin Hill got on the board in the first with 3 hits. After that, Kevin Christina settled in, allowing only 3 hits and 1 unearned run through the reamining 6 frames. The Brewers offense did just enough to win a tight one, in which the tying run was in scoring position as the last out was made.

Mike Maguire had 2 hits and 2 SB on the day.

Gary Kaye had 2 hits for the Hornets, including a monster triple in the 5th that cut the lead to just 1. Gordon Lescinskis quieted the Brewers offense and gave the Hornets a chance at a comeback with 2+ innings of shutout relief.

Ryan Stoller threw a 1-2-3 7th inning for the save. Ricky Salvucci led the offense with 2 hits and 2 runs, while Brendan Wheeler and Steve Lambert each drove in runs. Rookie Nick Runyan doubled for his first YBL hit and played a strong game at shortstop.

The Beacons "recovered" at Frosty McConnell Park in Savin Hill by Dorchester Bay. They score an 11-3 win over the Hornets. Early and late rallies sustain some quality pitching: 4IP by Adam Kulis, Dean Sandonato - 2IP for win and a close (1IP) for Mike Dorval.

Dan Ciocca has been scorching hot in Games 1 & 2 at the plate. Ciocca went 4 for 5 scored 3 runs and had an RBI. He is 2nd in the YBL with a .750BA.

Artie Lauzier & Ryan Oshima went 2 for 2 and scored 2 runs (each) in the leadoff spot. Lauzier had an RBI. Captain Jack Owens busted out and went 3 for 5 with an RBI & a stolen base.

A fine recovery from an awful opening day.

Rookie Denis Houton came on to pitch 2 hitless innings to pick up his first YBL win, as the Al Thomas Club edged the Savin Hill squad 11-8.
Jim Perry hurled the last three frames, yielding no hits, while whiffing 5 to pick up the save.

John Kostas led the offense with 3 hits and 3 rbi, and Ricky Salvucci and Peter Moores each collected 2 hits. Brendan Wheeler and Shane O'Neil drove in 2 runs apiece, with O'Neil making 2 stellar plays at first base.

Paul Tagliaferri blasted a 3-run homer and a double for Savin Hill.
