Chris Demers complete game propelled the Bluefish to their first ever YBL Finals, defeating a tough Malden Bulldogs squad 4-1, to take the series by 3 games to 1. Al Becker had 3 hits, while Bobby Foote added 2 hits for the Bluefish. Evan Tardugno led the Bulldogs offense with 2 hits.

After a few errors and ball lost in the dusk, the Bluefish found themselves down 5-0 in the bottom of the first inning of Game 3. But the hosts scratched and clawed as Kyle Jones CG, 8 Ks) kept the Bulldogs' bats at bay.

Jason Recore (2 hits, 3 runs) knocked in the go-ahead runs with a double in the fourth, as the Bluefish came back from their biggest deficit in team history to defeat the Bulldogs by a score of 9-6 for their 13th straight home victory. It was their third come-from-behind win in their last four playoff games. Tardugno was the tough-luck loser for Malden, and D'Entremont launched a 2-run double in the first.

Game 4 is at Rogers at the series resumes Friday night.

Malden battled back from their implosion the night before to best East Boston 4 to 1.

Adam Del Rio got the win in 6 innings of work and Jay Wisner recorded the save.

Malden's offense was paced by RBi's from Evan Tardugno, C4, and Matt Savage.

Sandini pitched very well for East Boston and Hartery hit a bomb to left center for a homerun in the 4th.

The series continues tomorrow at Rogers.

Wild game at Maplewood. Malden scored 2 in the bottom of the 1st and rode the arm of Ken Olisky for 3 perfect innings, and a shutout through 4. In the 5th, after an error, Sean Glavin hit a long 2 run home run to tie the game at 2. As quickly as the Bluefish tied the game, Malden went ahead 4-2 on a long home run by Tom Englehart. It remained 4-2 into the 7th, where the Bluefish scored 5 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks, highlighted by a Mike Lembo single making it 4-3, a Jason Recore bases loaded walk that tied the game, a 2 run single by Al Becker making it 6-4, and a Bobby Foote Sac Fly. Bluefish starter Nate Titcomb, pitching for the first time in over 3 weeks, kept the Fish in it, going 5 innings giving up 4 hits and 4 runs. Matt Smith pitched a scoreless 6th for the win, and Ian Titcomb pitched a scoreless 7 for the save.

The dormant Malden bats came alive today on a great day at a beautiful ball field in Milton.

Malden scored 2 runs in the first. Joe Eugenio walked (series 0-1, 6 walks)and was doubled home by a ball off the 395 foot sign in left center by Tom Englehardt. Englehardt scored on a Sac Fly by Adam Del Rio.

Al Thomas scored in the 1st on am RBI single by Muse.

Malden pushed across 2 in the 3rd. The offensive highlight came in the 4th on a 3-run homerun by Lenny Carter over the 405 foot sign in right center.

Evan Tardugno came back today getting the win in 5 innings of work. Mike Steele and Jay Wisner pitched the 6th and 7th respectively.

Malden wins the series 2-0.

Corey Carter stole third and scored on an over throw in the 4th inning. That was the rest of the scoring.

Ryan Stoller pitched great for Al Thomas. He kept Malden hitters off balance all day.

Adam Del Rio was the winning pitcher going 5 innings and striking out 8. Pat Shannahan got the save.

The game ended on line drive double play. Al Thomas had runners on first and second at the time.

Eugneio was on base 3 times with 3 walks, Lenny Carter had a double and a single, and Corey Carter had a single and a key steal to pace Malden's offense.

Malden used of its two hits tonight to help score a run in the first inning. Malden Scored on a Joey Eugenio Walk, a passed ball, a Tom Englehardt single and a "Donkey" Del Rio RBI groundout.

Ken Olisky and Tyler Norton were the story the rest of the way. Olisky pitched a complete game 2 hitter. One of the hit was a legged out infield single by Kaye in the 2nd. Olisky threw 80 pitches and 58 for strikes.

Tom Englehardt had both hit for Malden.

The game time was 90 minutes.

Another war between South Boston and Malden ended with an explosion, literally!

Rob Stephenson and Adam Del Rio locked up in pitcher's duel. Del Rio went off the bump and went in to play right field in the 8th. He made a diving game saving catch with the game winning run at second base.

Malden scored 2 runs in the 9th with 2 outs. Lenny Carter hit a double and scored on Steve D'Entremont's major league pop up to short right field that fell in. Tom Englehardt followed with a single that plated D'Entremont.

Rob Linn of Southie led off the 9th with a bomb to left that was somehow run down in semi-slow motion by Lenny Carter.

Patrick Shanahan got the win and Jay Wisner the save.

A great battle by 2 great teams.

After the teams shook hands, one of Malden's finest threw back a foul ball onto the field. This Nokonna Pearl was filled with some type of explosive and blew up when it hit the ground!

McKay Club beat the best team in the YBL tonight. Malden is a machine and that machine was shut down at least tonight by UMass product Brian Curran. Curran pitched a complete (8 inning0 game and allowed only 3 hits. The mighty malden bats were quiet, but they managed to tie it up on old friend Dana Levensaler's hit in the 7th. The beacons scored when Tom Michael led off the 8th rounded to 3B on an error and scored on Jack Owens solid single to center.

Peter Karl made a tremendous throw to the plate to end the game on a double play and preserve the victory.

Malden started off a tough week of 5 straight games with a short-handed win against South End.

The Bulldogs were missing 4 starters on this steamy Sunday afternoon.

Mike Steele started the game for the Bulldogs. Malden scored 3 runs in the third on a couple of errors and a safety squeeze by Evan Tardugno.

In the 5th South End loaded the bases with one out. Malden made a pitching change and called on veteran Kevin McGovern. McGovern got a ground out and a K to end the frame.

Malden's dormant bats finally came alive in the later innings. Adam "Donkey" Del Rio blasted a 3 run homerun to left in the 6th.

Corey Carter capped the game off with a grand slam over the left corner of the scoreboard in left center.

Franny Rodriguez had an RBI groundout for South End.

The fans were out to see two of the best teams in the YBL at Trum this evening. Estimate was well over a 1000 fans!
Jared Liederman of Somerville came up HUGE as he pitched 5 stella innings to record his second win in the 2008 season.
The BIG Blast came off the bat of Justin Crisafulli(3-HR) in the 6th to ice the game away.Bernie Driscoll and Mike Fetham also had multi hit games.
Barressi took the lost for Malden only their 3rd of the season.

A great game on both sides. Max Warren vs. Adam Del Rio. Warren pitched great and had 3 hits.

Del Rio pitched great and had a key slash hit in the 6th that helped Malden score 2 runs.

Chris Deane struck out to start the 6th but reached on a passed ball. Del Rio then slashed a hit to left. Evan Tardugno then reached on an error to load the bases. D'Entremont grounded to short but the runner was safe at home. Louis Lara grounded into a 6-2-3 DP. Tardungno never stopped running and scored from second on the play.

Southie came back in the 6th to score a run but a huge Corey Carter to Troy Ingemni to Ken Olisky cut short Mosesso at third trying to stretch a double into a triple.

Wisner got the last out for the save.

Tardugno pitched a complete game scattering 3 hits and striking out 5.

Savage had 2 key hits and 2 RBI's. He also made a Willie Mays Hayes over the shoulder catch on a drive by Bernie Driscoll in the 5th that stopped an impending rally.

Chris Deane continues his quest for the Don Baylor award by wearing another fastball to the arm.

D' entremont played some stellar first base and had a big double. Corey Carter also doubled in a key run.
Morse and Rodgers pitched well for Somerville. Congratulations to Mike Powers on the birth of his son Liam.

This was an old fashioned pitchers duel with outstanding defense on both sides.

Steve Durant made his debut with the Maddogs and went 8 strong innings, allowing only 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7.

Mike Hudd pitched the final 2 innings picking up his first win of the season.

Lenny Carter went the first 7 innings for Malden striking out 12. Wisner took the tough loss after pitching 2 and a third innings before giving up a home run to Kenny Luongo.

Ingemi had a couple of web gems for Malden at second base.

The Maddogs got great defense all night long from their infield. Kevin Kelley laid out a couple of times at third. Buddy Hanley was in the middle of two DP's and Johnny Cunningham, who has yet to make an error this season had 11 plays at second base.

What a baseball game! Rockies rookie lefthander Bobby Sims (5IP, 2H) and Malden's Ken Olisky (5IP, 4H) locked up for a pitchers duel last night a Maplewood.

With the Rocks trainling 2-0 going into the bottom of the 7th and the YBL save leader (and former Rockie) Jay Wisner on the mound, the stage was set for drama.

Back to back gappers for doubles to lead off the inning by Kevin Spitz and Nate Laliberte brought the Rockies within one. A few batters later and with one out and the bases loaded, Booch's grounder resulted in a close play at the plate with (PR) Frankie Ciampa just beating the throw at home to tie the game. Veteran Dave Mitrou then walked on 5 pitches forcing in the winning run.

Rich Dumas notched the win for his 2 innings of relief & Steve D'Entremont hit an impressive homer on a pitch in the dirt for Malden.

A team from Malden, The Bulldogs and a team from Milton, The Al Thomas Club got together to celebrate Dorchester Day at Ronan Park. The Dorchester Day festivities caused delays in both the 1pm and 4pm games due to the closing of Dot Ave.

The Celebration included a 5 on 1 fight that started in the basketball court and a possible gunshot between the 1pm and 4pm games.

Now on to the game..

The Bulldogs made in 6 in a row in 2008 and 12 in a row dating back to 2007. Adam "Donkey" Del Rio picked up his second win allowing 1 run on 7 hits in 6 innings.

Troy Ingemi was the defensive star of the day making a bang bang 4-3 for the third out in the 6th to leave the bases loaded for Al Thomas.

Chris Deane paced the offense with 2 hits including a key RBI single in the 6th.

Al Thomas welcomed back Andy Doyle who had 3 hits. In his 4th at bat he lined a shot of Jay Wisner's leg which went directly to Steve D'Entremont at 1st base

The Bulldogs made it 10 in a row last night with a win over Al Thomas.

Adam "Donkey" Del Rio was in the highlight reel again but his time with his bat. Del Rio hit a first inning 3-run homerun to straight away center. Only the second ever hit at Maplewood since YBL play began.
Del Rio and Steve D'Entremont combined to go 9-10 with 8 RBI's and 15 total bases.

Lenny Carter won his second game of the year scattering 3 hits while strinking out 11 in 5 innings.

Chris Malloy continued his hot start with 4 hits for Al Thomas.

Malden Moves to 4-0 on the season.

The real winner was Maplewood's Turf which abosorbed the rain and allowed us to play while the rest of the league was washed out!.

Malden's streak reaches 9!

Malden made it 9 in row dating back to last year with a big win over the Brighton Brewers.

Adam Del Rio was oustanding tonight scattering 3 hits over 6 innings. Del Rio allowed 1 run in the first on a bloop double by Vacanti. He struck out 11, 9 of which were looking.

Malden played small ball for most of the night against starter Tupper. Malden stole bases and scored 3 runs on groundouts.

A big win for Malden who will have a tougher time the next time we face the Brewers full squad.

Next game in 7 days vs. Al Thomas.

Malden plated the first 9 hitters in the first inning en route to a 12 to 3 win.
The game was certainly not a an exhibition of pitching control. There were a total of 19 walks between both teams.
Mike Barthel got the win. He came into the game in the 4th and got out of a base loaded and none out jam.
Malden improves to 2 -0.

Lenny Carter got the Bulldogs going in the right direction despite not having is best stuff. Carter went 5 innings, allowed 2 hits, walked 2 and struck out 8.

Chris Deane announced his presence with 2 hits, 2 RBI's and a stolen base. Ken Olisky had 2 hits and 2 SB's. James Caudle also had 2 hits for the Bulldogs.

Griffith held the Bulldogs at bay for 4 plus innings before leaving with a finger injury.
