Evan Schein came out on top of a pitchers duel with JT Ross of the Black Sox. Schein allowed only 4 hits with 13 K's to get his second win in consecutive starts. Ross allowed only 5 hits with 10 K's to take the tough loss for the Black Sox. Justin Depasse and Nick Foundas stepped up to supply back-to-back 2-RBI hits to put the Braves up 4-2.
Schein escaped a bases loaded jam with no outs in the 7th to preserve the win. |

Evan Schein had an unlucky first inning in his first start of the year for the Braves. The Cyclones plated 5 runners on 4 bloop singles and a Braves error. Schein then settled down allowing only 2 more hits the rest of the night with 9 Ks. The Braves answered in the bottom of the first with 4 runs. The game remained deadlocked until bottom 6 when the Braves broke through with 5 runs on 4 hits, 2 BB and 2 HbP. Chris Sullivan led the Braves offense going 3-4, 2 R, RBI and Jared Cianciolo was 2-3 with a walk and 3 RBI. |

Sox win second game in a row with strong pitching. Nicholson picks up his second win, while Rooney picks ups his second save in two nights.
Offensively for the Sox Varakis had 3 hits, while Dargon and Massarotti each had two hits. |

Brighton Braves 6, Savin Hill Hornets 5
Savin Hill took a 4-1 lead after 3 but the Braves mounted a comeback in the 5th scoring 5 runs on a bases loaded walk and two 2-RBI singles by Tracy and Cashman (3-4, Run, 2 RBI). Nick Foundas had a rough 4th inning allowing 6 hits in a row to Hornet batters but held on for the win. Eric Lochiatto shut the door in the 7th with a 1-2-3 inning to get the save.
Matt Kirk had an outstanding outing in relief for Savin Hill but unfortunately the damage had already been done. Kirk went 3.1 innings allowing only 1 hit and had 6 K's. Gary Kaye led the Hornet offense with 2 hits, 3B and 2 RBI. |

Chris Dion threw 122 pitches enroute to his first YBL victory tonite. Leading 4-1 going into the top of the 7th, the Braves mounted a late game rally to get within 1, but the Cyclones held onto to the game and the 4-3 win. Jay Klemm had the game winning RBI in the bottom of the 6th for the Cyclones giving them the 4-1 lead.

The Braves jumped out to an early lead in the 1st with 4 runs off an injured Bill Clang. The Braves Ryan Ouellette had his second consecutive 3 hit game while Jeff Cashman was 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Justin Depasse (5 H, 2 BB, 3 K) pitched a gem of a game before allowing 3 unearned runs in the 6th to earn his first victory of the season as a starter. Eric Lochiatto made things interesting in the 7th but secured the first save of the season for the Braves. After a lead off triple by Ryan Carey, "Loch" worked around 2 walks with 2 grounders and a K to strand Carey on 3rd. |

Frank Sorrenti took the pill for Alibrandis and got his 1st YBL win. Steve Durant tossed the last 2 innings striking out 5.
Devin Davis had 3 hits, 2 stolen bases, scored 2 and drove home 1.
Multi hit game and RBI's went too...DesRoches,Feetham,McDonough and Mendonca.

Brighton Braves 9, South End Astros 8
The Braves mounted a huge comeback in the bottom of the 7th to steal the victory from South End. The Braves scored 5 runs in the inning, all with 2-outs. After Astros pitcher Claudio Rodriguez retired the 1st two batters, Justin Depasse got things going with a walk. Two hits (Antoine & C. Sullivan), two walks (Sweeney brothers) and two fielding errors tied up the game at 8. With the bases loaded, Andrew Koris took a 2-2 curve in the back for the game winning RBI. Adam Antoine led the Braves offense going 2-3 with a double, run scored and walk. Joe Schlesinger picked up the win with 2.1 innings of 1-hit, shutout relief.
Rommer Peguero led the Astro offense with 2 hits, RBI and run. B Pimentel and M Rodriguez each had 2 hits. |

Braves took a 7 to 0 lead in 1st, but the McKay Club scored 6 in their half and went on to win this huge game @ Ronan.
Playoff spots are few and both teams are in the hunt. Big Baby Jonathan Pelletier cam in and stopped the bleeding. He pitched in relief of Nick O'Keefe who had a dead arm in the 1st. Big Baby went thru 5 for the win. |

Cambridge and the Braves play extra innings late into the night.
Cambridge along with pitcher Randy Casey held a steady 3-0 lead until the 5th and 6th when Brighton tied it up. In the top of the 9th Chris Neil led off with a base hit, eventually leading to a Tim Morin RBI single an and Omar Caceres SAC fly to put Cambridge up 2. Casey pitched all 9 innings adding 15 more strike outs to his league lead.

With 2 outs and runners on 2nd & 3rd in the 6th, Ryan Ouellette (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI) followed an error by the Dodgers 1st basemen on a pop-up foul with a 2-run single that made the difference in the ballgame. Pete Lankarge overcame 10 Dodger hits and 8 walks to get his 2nd win of the season. Filling in for the Braves in right field, Justin Depasse had himself a day going 1-2 with a BB, SB and 2 runs scored.
Whitmore led the Dodger offense going 2-4, 2B, BB and a run scored. |

The Bluefish broke out of a mini hitting slump with an 18 hit effort in a 11-4 win over the Braves on Saturday at Rogers. Recore, Santosuosso, Glavin, Foote each had 3 hits, while Hartery and Posch each had 2. Kyle Jones got the win going 5 1-3 in relief due to his late arrival to the game. Ian Titcomb pitched a scoreless first, while Jason Recore induced a game ending double play to the only batter he faced. Koris had 2 hits for the Braves, while Ted Tracy was his usual self in the leadoff spot, getting on base 3 times and scoring a run. |

Braves hang on to take the 5-4 victory over Al Thomas on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 7th. Ouellette led off the inning with a HBP followed by walks to Shein, Mozill and Hudson. Top 7, 2 down, down by 2, Brian Powers laced a 2-run double to tie the game for Al Thomas. Evan Hudson led the Braves offense going 1-2 with 3 RBI and 2 BB. Foundas pitched well for the Braves but ended up with the no decision.
John Kostas pitched well in defeat going 5.2 innings with 9 Ks. Powers led the Al Thomas offense (3-4, 2B, 2 RBI). Foley and Daly had 2 hits each. |

Ted Tracy had a career night to help preserve the victory for the Braves at Rogers Park. Tracy went 3-3 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored capping off his night at the plate with a 3-run HR to deep center in the 4th to put the Braves up 7-2 at the time. This was his 1st career Yawkey League HR in 12 years of service. Not to be outdone in the field, Tracy also made a terrific over-the-shoulder diving catch in left field to stop a potential Dodgers rally in the 7th. Pete Lankarge pitched well for the Braves to earn his first win of the season.
Jay Shatto could not be kept off the bases for the Dodgers. He got on-base in all 4 of his at-bats including 2 hits and a SB. Andrew Zides also had 2 hits for the Dodgers.

The rain held off in Brighton long enough for the Braves to pick up their first victory of the season. Ryan Ouellete got things going in the 1st with a bases loaded 2-run single. Jared Cianciolo followed that up with an RBI single of his own. Nick Foundas pitched well for the Braves allowing only 3 hits through 4. Tiring after the 4th, the Hornets collected 6 hits and 2 runs in the next 2 innings. Justin Depasse finished things off in the 7th with a 1-2-3 inning. Ouellete led the Braves offense with 4 hits, 1 run and 4 RBI.
Ben Drayn led the Savin Hill offense going 3-4 with a SB. Michel and Tagliaferri had 2 hits each for the Hornets. |

The Brewers scraped back to cut the lead to 1 through 6, then Marc Hordon & Tony Iafolla had back-to-back RBIs with 2 outs in the 7th to take the lead.
Three Braves had multi-hit games (Tracy, Cashman, Mozill) in the tough loss. |

The Braves and Maddogs played to a 6-6 tie after play was suspended by the umpires after 7 innings due to darkness. Tied 0-0 after 3, there were 5 lead changes in the last 4 innings. The Maddogs got on the board first with a run in the 4th while the Braves took the lead with 3 of their own in the bottom of the inning. Medford tied it up in the 5th with the Braves again taking the lead 5-3 after 5. Medford proceeded with 1 run in the 6th and 2 in the 7th to take a 6-5 lead. With one out in the bottom of the 7th, Ted Tracy (2-4, 2 3B, 2 R) ripped a triple down the left field line. Jeff Cashman (3-4, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI) then singled to score Tracy to tie the game. Aronson also had 2 hits for the Braves. |

The Braves got out to an early 5-0 lead, keyed by a 2-RBI single by Evan Schein in the 3rd. The Brewers came back to score 6 in the bottom of the inning, with Brendan Klaes and AJ Vacanti collecting 2-RBI each. Starter Trevor Young-Hyman and Scott Barchard held the Braves to just 2 hits through the last 4 innings to secure the victory. |

Chris Bucci walked in the 6th, stole second and third and scored the eventual winning run in a 6-5 squeaker for the A's on a freezing night at Ronan Park.
Rookie John Foley pitched 1.2 scoreless innings for the win, making his YBL pitching debut with the bases loaded. Foley relieved John Kostas who fanned 13 in 5.1 innings.
Andy Doyle went 2 for 2 with 2 walks in his return to the Thomas Club, while rookie Steve Lambert made his YBL debut and stroked a 2-run single. Bucci and Chris Malloy each scored twice for the A's.
Ted Tracy reached base 3 times for the Braves, who had 5 players with a hit apiece. |

The Rockies and Braves had the privilege of opening up the 2008 season Thursday night. It certainly wasn't pretty, but Rockies came away with the victory. Five Rockie pitchers split duty on the hill, with Rich Dumas getting the win. The top of the order did the damage for the Rocks as Pete John (3 SB) and Dave Mitrou (1 SB)each had a hit, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Leadoff man Teddy-Ballgame Tracy reached base 3 times for the Braves. |
