Dodgers break out of a six game slump behind the strong pitching of Chris Michienzi. Michienzi (2-0) pitched his 1st complete game in the YBL, allowing 7 hits, 1 walk, 1 earned run and 5 strikeouts. The offense was big all night, and it was led by catcher Steve DeFusco (4-5, double, triple, 2 runs, 2 RBI). LF Steve Walsh went 2-2 with a triple, 2 runs and 4 RBI, SS Derek Barauskas was 2-5 with 2 runs, 2 SB's and an RBI. 1B Jared Doucette also added 2 hits, with a double and an RBI. Everyone chipped in, as every Dodger reached base at least once. Cambridge starter Eric Hannah took a tough loss in 6 innings of work. He pitched around 150 pitches on a tough night of work. Greg Megadehsian and A.J. LeBrecque added 2 hits each for the Spinners.

The Dodgers make the biggest comeback in team history, tying the game with 2 outs in the 7th to force extras. After trailing 9-0 after the 3rd, the Dodgers rattled off 4 straight innings with runs to eventually tie the game. In the 7th, 1B Matt Donoghue had a clutch 2-out single to score CF Jay Shatto. The Dodgers with multiple hit days were Shatto (5-6, 5 singles, 2 R, SB), 2B Andy Zides (2-6, R, 2 RBI) and Jeff Ayers (2-5, 2 R). Ayers led off the 9th with a single and got moved over by a Marc Skipper sac bunt. After a Shatto single, a walk to 3B Jerrad Ryan, and a Donoghue strikeout, Zides 2-out single drove in Ayers for the win. Ayers also pitched very well in the win, going 7.1 innings, and keeping the Dodgers in the game all the way. Derek Barauskas entered with 2 on and 1 out in the 9th, and got the only 2 batters he faced to pick up his 1st YBL win. Tony Iafolla hit a HR for the Brewers, and they pounded out 12 hits.

Farrar has not walked a batter in his past 26 innings of work for Brookline, and he scattered only 4 hits and had 7 K's on the day. The Dodgers offense was led by C Bryan Duffy (2-4, 2 2Bs and 2 RBI) and 2B Andy Zides (2-4, 2B, 2RBI). CF Jay Shatto and 3B Jerrad Ryan both walked twice and scored once. Rookie RF Jeff Ayers added his 1st YBL hit, with a single to lead off the 3rd inning. Ryan Stoller (L, 1-1) took the tough loss in the decision.

Rookie Pitcher Tyler Norton had another solid Start for the Savin Hill Hornets picking up his first win of the season. The hornets were able to string together some runs early and with the help of a good defensive performance, along with a lot of ground balls, were able to maintain the lead. Some troublesome walks in the late innings posed a threat when Nate Hodor came in to close out the game to pickup his first save of the season in two innings of work.

Brookline rookie SS Derek Barauskas hit a 1-out triple to RF to get the Dodgers going in the 3rd, and CF Jay Shatto drove Barauskas in on a Sac Fly on the next pitch. Brookline would add a 2nd run in the 5th inning, with LF Joe Patrolia leading off with a single, stealing second and scoring on RF Steve Walsh's base-hit up the middle. Shaun Farrar comes in for his 1st save of 2008, closing the game out and a 2-0 win for Brookline. Black Sox pitcher J. T. Ross (L, 1-2) pitched great, allowing only 4 hits over his 6 innings of work, with 7 K's and only 1 walk. The Dodgers and the Black Sox both played great defensively, with neither team making an error.

Ted Tracy had a career night to help preserve the victory for the Braves at Rogers Park. Tracy went 3-3 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored capping off his night at the plate with a 3-run HR to deep center in the 4th to put the Braves up 7-2 at the time. This was his 1st career Yawkey League HR in 12 years of service. Not to be outdone in the field, Tracy also made a terrific over-the-shoulder diving catch in left field to stop a potential Dodgers rally in the 7th. Pete Lankarge pitched well for the Braves to earn his first win of the season. Jay Shatto could not be kept off the bases for the Dodgers. He got on-base in all 4 of his at-bats including 2 hits and a SB. Andrew Zides also had 2 hits for the Dodgers.
