An old fashioned pitchers duel. Tyler Middleton went five innings for his first YBL win, striking out 5, allowing 5 singles, 2 on broken bats and 2 in the infield and one hit batter. Sean Gildea came on and pitched a perfect 6th and 7th inning for the save.

Steve Szathmary threw 6 strong innings for Somerville, striking out 2, giving up 4 hits and walking 3.

Johnny Cunningham was the offensive player of the game for Medford with a hit and a walk along with 2 stolen bases and the only run scored in the game.

Luongo, Hanley and Hudd also had hits for the Maddogs.

Sargeant Eamonn McDonough pitched his final game this season as he returns to Iraq to defend his Country.

Eamonn went 6 innings giving up 1 run, a home-run by Kimbro, allowed only 3 hits, walked 1 and struck out 6. Eamonn pitched in 4 games during his 2 week leave finishing with a 2-0 record with 1 save.

Eamonn is a model Teammate, an outstanding pitcher and a great American.

Maguire and Hudd led the Medford offense with 3 hits each. Cunningham scored 2 more runs, giving him a League leading 32 on the season.

McDonough finished the 6th and Tyler Middleton came in and pitched the 7th.

Cunningham had 3 hits and scored 2 runs giving him 30 runs on the season. Chris Wood, Lucas Einstein and Jay Sablone each had 2 hits.

Lambert pitched very well for the A's.

Luongo had an RBI double and Crovo made the defensive play of the game with a sliding catch of a sinking liner in right field which he turned into a double play by throwing to first.

The Big Train, The Unit, The Ogre, The "E" Dog, Eamonn McDonough returned from Iraq and threw a complete game. The Dogs could have made it easier on Eamonn and not committed 3 errors which led to 3 unearned runs. Sargeant McDonough finished with 8 K's and only 2 walks. Not a bad job after being off for two years.

Offensively the Dogs put together 18 hits, 6 walks and a hit batter. Maguire, Sablone, Cunningham and Kelley each had 3 hits. Hanley and Gusdorf each had 2 hits. Crovo had 2 walks and was hit by a pitch.

A gutsy Savin Hill Team never quit and battled the entire night.

This was the 6th win in a row for Medford.

Kenny Luongo was the story and then some on offense. Kenny went 3-4 with a walk, home run and 6 RBI's.

Montero was the hard luck loser, he also went the complete 8 innings, striking out 7 and walking 6.

Martinez homered for the South End and Kenny Luongo homered with one out in the 8th for the game winner.

Both Marc Crovo and Mike Maguire had assists from the outfield.

Sean Gildea earned his 4th win of the season by going the distance walking 2 and striking out 8. He gave up 1 unearned run.

The Dogs were short handed and used pitchers Talal Saleh and Miles Whitlock in the line-up. Gildea stepped it up and was the stopper.

Johnny Cunningham had 3 walks and a sacrifice and scored twice. Kenny Luongo also walked 3 times and had an RBI single. Mike Hudd had 2 hits and Jay Sablone knocked in 2 runs with a double.

Adam "Donkey" Del Rio won his second game of the week pitching on 3 days rest. He went 5 innings, scattered 4 hits and a walk. He let up 1 uneared run in the second. Del Rio also helped his own cause with 2 doubles and 4 RBI's.

Mike Steele and Joe HAdfield had their first YBL hits in the 7th inning.

Malden moves to 13-2-1 on the season. Next game vs Chelsea on Monday.

This was an old fashioned pitchers duel with outstanding defense on both sides.

Steve Durant made his debut with the Maddogs and went 8 strong innings, allowing only 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7.

Mike Hudd pitched the final 2 innings picking up his first win of the season.

Lenny Carter went the first 7 innings for Malden striking out 12. Wisner took the tough loss after pitching 2 and a third innings before giving up a home run to Kenny Luongo.

Ingemi had a couple of web gems for Malden at second base.

The Maddogs got great defense all night long from their infield. Kevin Kelley laid out a couple of times at third. Buddy Hanley was in the middle of two DP's and Johnny Cunningham, who has yet to make an error this season had 11 plays at second base.

A GREAT GAME.

Ryan Stoller became the 2nd 19-year-old rookie to win a game for the Al Thomas Club this year as he led the A's to a 6-3 win over Medford.

Stoller threw 5 strong innings, yielding 3 unearned runs on 2 hits. Aiden Powers tossed 2 scoreless innings for the save.

Chris Bucci (2b, 2 rbi, 2 runs) and Mark Daly had 2 hits apiece, and John Kostas doubled in 2 runs for the Thomas Club.

Gildea pitched well in defeat for the Maddogs, while Maguire and Wood picked up the hits.

Talal Saleh dominated in the heat for 5 and 2/3's before Davies hit a tape measure shot for WR's 2 rune. Talal finished with 6 K's and improves his record to 2-0.

Kenny Luongo had the big hit, a bases loaded double scoring all 3 runners. Sablone added a triple.

The Dogs played flawless defense with Hanley and Cunningham leading the way around the keystone bag with 8 plays between them including a 6-4-3 doubleplay.

Miles Whitlock closed the seventh with a perfect 1-2-3 inning.

The Braves and Maddogs played to a 6-6 tie after play was suspended by the umpires after 7 innings due to darkness. Tied 0-0 after 3, there were 5 lead changes in the last 4 innings. The Maddogs got on the board first with a run in the 4th while the Braves took the lead with 3 of their own in the bottom of the inning. Medford tied it up in the 5th with the Braves again taking the lead 5-3 after 5. Medford proceeded with 1 run in the 6th and 2 in the 7th to take a 6-5 lead. With one out in the bottom of the 7th, Ted Tracy (2-4, 2 3B, 2 R) ripped a triple down the left field line. Jeff Cashman (3-4, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI) then singled to score Tracy to tie the game. Aronson also had 2 hits for the Braves.

On a cold night at Ross, the lights are what finally ended the game for both teams. The Bluefish rallied with 3 in the 5th and 3 in the 6th to tie their biggest comeback win in team history to defeat the Maddogs 6-5. Newcomer Chris Hartery put the Bluefish over the top with a bases clearing triple in the bottom of the 6th to cap off a 2-4 night with 4 RBI. Chris Demers picked up the win in relief, pitching out of a 1st and 2nd nobody out situation in the 6th. Kenny Luongo had both Maddog hits.
