Evan Schein came out on top of a pitchers duel with JT Ross of the Black Sox. Schein allowed only 4 hits with 13 K's to get his second win in consecutive starts. Ross allowed only 5 hits with 10 K's to take the tough loss for the Black Sox. Justin Depasse and Nick Foundas stepped up to supply back-to-back 2-RBI hits to put the Braves up 4-2.

Schein escaped a bases loaded jam with no outs in the 7th to preserve the win.

Sox come from behind winning on a walk off walk by Chris Dargon. JT Ross weathered an early storm to pick up the complete game win, on his birthday.

Whitmore takes the loss for Brookline despite taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning.

Massarotti sparked the come back with two hits and scoring the winning run. Jacobson also had two hits for the Sox.

Zides had two hits for Brookline.

Sox win behind strong pitching performance by Jared Rooney, who earns his second Yawkey League victory with his complete game effort.

The Bluefish turned an very nice triple play with the bases loaded in the top of the six,
started by third baseman Chris Hartery, who caught a low line drive on the short hop, tagged the runner at third, stepped on third base and fired to first to complete the triple play.

Chris Santosuosso homered for the Bluefish.

Rookie Steve Lambert earned his first YBL victory with a complete game 5-hitter as the Al Thomas Club beat the Brighton Sox 4-2.

John Foley and Bubba Muse had run-scoring singles, while Bobby Barrett and Chuck Killens stroked doubles. Lambert helped his own cause with a walk and a single.

Nicholson pitched well in a losing effort.

Drew Tambling struck two homers and had 3 RBI. Jack Owens led off three innings with hits and scored twice. Mike Barthel had an RBI and 2 hits. Connor Reinfurt continued his torrid hitting with 3 hits & an RBI.

But, the story of the day was the relief effort on the bump by Ryan Thomas. Thomas came in with the score tied at 5 in the 4th. He ended any further threats by the Brighton Sox with no runs, no hits and 3Ks over 3.1 innings for the victory. Grant Derflinger was throwing hard, but his wildness and 3 errors caused 4 unearned runs and his demise.

Sox came back from a 5-1 deficit to tie it up in the 4th. The Sox are a solid team that worked very hard in this home loss.

Brookline's Marty Whitmore pitches 6 shutout innings in a duel with Black Sox left-hander J.T. Ross in Hyde Park. Whitmore (W, 2-2) allowed only 2 hits while striking out 5 and walking 3 in a great effort for the Dodgers.

Brookline rookie SS Derek Barauskas hit a 1-out triple to RF to get the Dodgers going in the 3rd, and CF Jay Shatto drove Barauskas in on a Sac Fly on the next pitch. Brookline would add a 2nd run in the 5th inning, with LF Joe Patrolia leading off with a single, stealing second and scoring on RF Steve Walsh's base-hit up the middle. Shaun Farrar comes in for his 1st save of 2008, closing the game out and a 2-0 win for Brookline.

Black Sox pitcher J. T. Ross (L, 1-2) pitched great, allowing only 4 hits over his 6 innings of work, with 7 K's and only 1 walk. The Dodgers and the Black Sox both played great defensively, with neither team making an error.

Mike Dibiase's 2-run homer with 2 down in the 6th gave the Brewers the lead for good in a very close contest. It also capped off a 3 for 3, 3 RBI day for Dibiase, who (along with Tony Iafolla's 3 hits) paced the offense . Mike Lewis went the distance for the victory.

Marco Pereira had two hits for the Black Sox.

A great match up tonight at Trum. Two of the best pitchers in the league squared off.Steve Szathmary for Somerville and JT Ross for Brighton. Szathmary got the best of the Black Sox tossing 6inning allowing just 5 singles and striking out 11. After a rocking 1st Ross settled down and went the distant for Brighton.
Alibrandis was lead offensively by Justin Crisafulli going 3-3 with two rbi's. Desroches had two rbi.Sal Mendonca and Bernie Driscoll each had two hits.
Somerville moves too 5-2 on the year.
Next game @ Healy Field in Roslindale vs Al Thomas.

Chris Caprio's RBI double with 2 outs in the 6th scoring Bobby Foote propelled the Bluefish to a 4-3 win over a tough Brighton Black Sox squad Tuesday Night at Rogers. Kyle Jones went the distance for the win, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 10. Aaron Greenblatt was tough on the mound all night for the Black Sox. He limited the Bluefish to only 2 hits entering the 6th inning, when the Bluefish finally got to him for 2 runs on 3 hits, capped off by Caprio's Double. Five different Black Sox had hits in defeat.

The Savin Hill Hornets pulled out their first victory of the season behind rookie pitcher Tyler Norton. This was likely not the cleanest game played in the YBL tonight as pitchers from both teams issued many walks over the course of the game. However San Hill's bats came alive tonight after not hitting well in the season opener, totaling 12 hits in the seven inning contest. Rookie John Higgins had a noticeable performance on the base path reaching base 5 times and scoring 4 times.
