Ryan Stoller hurled a 3-hitter with no walks and 11 k's as the Al Thomas Club defeated West Roxbury 4-1 in a tough divisional game.
Bobby Barrett went 3 for 3 with 2 rbi, and John Kostas and Mark Daly ripped 2 hits each to pace the recently awakened A's offense. Chris Moore drove in 2 runs with a single and ground out.
Greg Rockwell pitched well for the Devils, while Phil Davies clubbed a run-scoring triple in the 1st inning. |

The Bluefish defeated the Devils by a score of 10-0 at Pond St in Norfolk. The offense was on fire from the beginning, with 3 extra base hits (Recore Double, Caprio RBI Double, Glavin 2 RBI Triple) in the first inning leading to 4 runs, and 3 more singles (Recore, Santosuosso 2 RBI, Caprio) in the 2nd to score 3 more. Santosuosso's solo HR in the 4th extended the lead to 8-0, and Chris Hartery's double 2 batters later made it 9-0. From there, it was Kyle Jones and Matt Vezina on the mound combining on a 2 hit shutout. Jones got the win going 5 innings, giving up 2 singles, while walking 2 and striking out 7. |

The Braves jumped out to an early lead in the 1st with 4 runs off an injured Bill Clang. The Braves Ryan Ouellette had his second consecutive 3 hit game while Jeff Cashman was 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Justin Depasse (5 H, 2 BB, 3 K) pitched a gem of a game before allowing 3 unearned runs in the 6th to earn his first victory of the season as a starter. Eric Lochiatto made things interesting in the 7th but secured the first save of the season for the Braves. After a lead off triple by Ryan Carey, "Loch" worked around 2 walks with 2 grounders and a K to strand Carey on 3rd. |

Chelsea Cyclones 1, West Roxbury Devils 0
Chelsea and West Roxbury matched up for a great game Tuesday at Chelsea High. Sam Kennedy-Smith took the ball for the Cyclones and pitched a shutout through the 6th working out of trouble on a couple of occassions with the help of the Chelsea defense. Jimmy Burns got the ball in the 7th and made things interesting, loading the bases with one out, but got out of the jam and earned himself a save and the team a win.
Angelo Scippa scored on a big hit and run play in the 3rd when CF Chris Brown crushed a shot to deep center which landed him on 3rd.

The Bluefish broke out the hitting sticks at Billings. The Fish were led by three hits from Chris Caprio and two each from Jason Recore, Al Becker, Chris Hartery and Jeremy Creveling.
Kyle Jones went 4.1 on the hill, and struck out 8, allowing only one hit.
The Titcomb brothers finished it with Nate getting five outs for the win, and Ian getting the last three, including the last two on a nifty 1-6-3 DP.
Ryan Carey was on base three times for the Devils. |

Talal Saleh dominated in the heat for 5 and 2/3's before Davies hit a tape measure shot for WR's 2 rune. Talal finished with 6 K's and improves his record to 2-0.
Kenny Luongo had the big hit, a bases loaded double scoring all 3 runners. Sablone added a triple.
The Dogs played flawless defense with Hanley and Cunningham leading the way around the keystone bag with 8 plays between them including a 6-4-3 doubleplay.
Miles Whitlock closed the seventh with a perfect 1-2-3 inning.

McKay Club came out swinging in this one. They scored 9 runs in the 1st two innings to secure their 3rd win of 2008. Mike Barthel came HOME to take the pill for the Beacons. He was good enough thru 5IP to garner the win. Mike allowed 5 runs only 2 were earned.
Connor Reinfurt was 4 for 5 with 5RBI and a 2nd inning Grand Slam over the deep left center field fence at Ronan to lead the way at the stick for McKay Club. Brad Gerbus also continued his torrid hiting. The YBL Rookie is 5th in the league in hitting. Brad was 3 for 5 with an RBI and another stolen base.
Mike Ryan had his usual night against the McKay Club going 4 for 4 scoring 2 runs with 3RBI for the Devils. |
