Jordan Krall vaulted the A's to victory with a 2 out single in the bottom of the 12th to drive in the winning run.
The game was completed at a quick pace, taking only 2.5 hours to complete. Brett O'Keefe threw 8 innings for the A's, striking out 9 in the process. Lenane led off the 9th with a double off the wall. Hat was it for O'Keefe, and he was replaced by Huber. Bill Ferdinand drove him in with a single, to make it 1-0.
The A's were down to their last out, but Buddha and Tessari both got singles, and Buddha scored on an infield hit by Mahoney. 1-1 after 9.
No action again until the 12th. Muollo led off with a single, was sacrificed to 2nd and moved to 3rd on an infield hit. Then Krall drove him in for the W, right before the Umps were ready to call it a night.
Hats off to Tom Lenane of the Red Sox, who threw 11.2 innings in one of the season's best pitching performances.
