Palmer Club 5, Grossman Marketing 1
Joe Lucier hurled a solid 5 inning performance in his first start since his 2014 injury woes. He scattered 4 hits, giving up only 1 run. Palmer was led offensively by Matt Lipsett who got a rally started in the top of the 5th with a lead off double. Johnny Phelan made up for an atrocious base running blunder by doubling on a real puss shot to left center in the 5th. Palmer played tough defense as a couple wiley vets sacrificed their bodies. First, Todd Korchin unnecessarily dove for a line drive in left field and, later, Jim Pierce took one in the chin after a crazy hop off a missile 5 hop ground ball to 3rd. Kyle Ritchie cleaned up the last 2 innings to record his 1st save of the season. He did so while rocking one of the grossest 'staches in the League. |
