Tim Dunphy, the Chief's starting pitcher, also pitched a well game throwing six innings and giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. However, a string of hits in the third and fourth innings plated a combined three runs for the Bulldogs, which ended up being the difference in the game. A leadoff triple in the third inning by the Bulldog's first baseman Ryan Wolfsberg got the bats going for Reading. Trevor Bouvier would later hit a sacrifice fly in the inning to plate Wolfsberg for the first run of the game. The Bulldogs captured two more runs in the fourth off an RBI double by Smoske, and an RBI single by Deady.
