Brighton Braves 4, Brighton Black Sox 3
The Braves even up their record with some solid defense and timely hitting in a 4-3 victory over the Black Sox at Rogers. Braves 3rd baseman Jeff Cashman made an impressive bare hand stab on a slow roller to steal an infield hit away from Gil in the 5th. He also made a leaping grab on a hard liner off the bat of Shah in the 6th, preventing a likely double down the line. With the tying run on 3rd in the 7th, Greeley and Schools were able to turn the 1-6-3 double play to end the game. Cashman and Uberti were both 2-4 at the dish for the Braves
Sam Kennedy-Smith pitched well for the Sox but didn't factor into the decision. Brown, Gil and Sementelli had the hits for the Black Sox. |
