Arlington and Lexington battled to a 1-1 nine-inning tie Thursday night.
With two outs in the sixth Marcus Way beat out an infield single to start the rally. A single by Sam Perkins put runners on first and second. Morgan Brown hit a fly ball into shallow center that appeared to be the third out, but the catch by shortstop Steve Gath was ruled not a catch and Way scored from second with the go ahead run.
In the bottom of the seventh the Sox tied the game and left the winning run 90 feet away.
Gath singled and Dave Ahern walked to start the inning. Arlington was able to force Gath at third on Mike Abraham's bunt. Mike Morgan hit a ground ball that was headed for right field, but Justin Connor got to it and threw out Morgan at first. Ahern was waived home and beat the throw to the plate for the tying run.
Both teams went 1-2-3 in the eighth and ninth innings.
