The Tigers took an early 4-0 lead through 3 innings backed by a Scott Stevens (2-4, 3RBI) RBI 2B in the 1st and a 2-RBI 1B in the 2nd. It wasn't until the 5th when the Jays finally got to Brian Lortz who was impressive on the hill. The Jays would put 1 run across in the 5th and another in the 6th on 3 straight hits from Hart (2-3), Thomas and Levansalar. In the bottom of the 7th with the score 4-2, Bere led off the inning with a 1B and Gagne would draw a BB. Confoey then knocked in Bere with a 1B up the middle and Hart came up big with a 1B of his own to tie the game 4-4. With 2 outs and runners at 1st and 2nd, Thomas was given the IBB and Wlodarczyk got Levansalar to ground out and end the threat. In extras, the Tigers bottom of the order got it done, plating 3 runs on clutch hits from West, Brassard (2-3, RBI), and Griffiths (1-2, 2 RBI) to seal the 7-4 win. A great battle by both teams.
