The Cantabs and Mets played at BB&N for the second time in this young season, with the Cantabs once again emerging victorious by a score of 9-6. Both teams had to shake off some rust from a lengthy layoff, but this game went right down to the wire. The Mets trailed by 3 in the top of the 9th but had the bases loaded with only 1 out. Cantab second baseman Jeff Beck was able to track down a flare to right that undoubtedly hung up in the air due to the humid, thick air. Beck was able to double off the runner at first to end the game. The two teams combined to crank out 19 hits. Nate Knowles, Dan Field, and Joel Blain for the Cantabs and Dave Garofano and Eli Munkholm for the Mets each had a multi-hit game. For the 'Tabs, Dave Carlson put one on the right field roof for his first career MSBL homerun. Jason Kurtz picked up his first win of the season (1-0) for the Cantabs.
