Cambridge Cantabs 11, Medford Mets 4
The Cambridge Cantabrigians (Cantabs) and the Medford Mets opened the 2011 season on a sunny day at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols school. The Mets drew first blood in the top of the 1st when John Collins put a ball on the right field roof for a solo HR. The Cantabs answered in the bottom half of the frame with 2 runs to take the lead; a lead they would never relinquish on the way to an 11-4 victory.
For the Cantabs, it was a true team victory. 10 of the 14 hitters in the lineup contributed at least 1 hit, while others contributed significantly in the field. The Cantabs' pitchers also turned in a very strong day.
For the Mets, John Collins went 2-3 (HR, 2B). |
