WP: Paul Laurin (in relief), S: Mike Rose In a tough game played at dark Ryan field, with a softball game going in right field, the Thunder outlasted the Vipers 8-7. Tough field conditions and poor lighting led to 4 errors by each team. A tremendous performance by Mike Rose, 2 for 2 including a 3-run triple in the 6th, as well as a door-slamming performance on the mound in the bottom of the 7th, getting the Vipers 1-2-3 to close the game. Brian Chen and Mike Rullo got the only other hits for the Thunder. The Thunder went ahead in the top of the 7th on 2 consecutive walks to Ed Macmillan and Mike Rullo (1 for 1, RBI, and 2 walks). The Thunder held on in the bottom of the 7th - Rose struck out pinch hitter Billy Rolls, Dave Brown dug out a long-hop throw from short for out #2, and a popup to Jim Beers ended the game.
