N. Andover Thunder 3, Medford Angels 2
A tremendous job by the North Andover "ground crew" (a.k.a. the players) to get the field playable. A very close game followed, including good pitching and defense on both sides. Medford tallied first on a first inning double by Sisson, singled home by Gilmore. But Jon Story settled in after that, yielding 5 more hits but no runs through the 6th.
The Thunder took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second on a single by Story, who over-ran second on Mike Johnson's infield grounder leaving Johnson at first. Dave Brown singled (almost robbed on a great play by Sisson at short), putting runners on 1st and second. A fielder's choice, stolen base, and a couple of pitches in the dirt put across two runs before the inning closed out.
All was quiet until the 8th, when the Thunder got the game winner on a walk to Todd Thompson and a single by Frank Marr.
