The South Boston Saints downed the Brighton Brewers 12-6 in a rain-soaked affair Thursday night at Ronan Park in Dorchester.

The Saints (2-1) handed the Brewers (2-1) their first loss of the season behind six strong innings from staff-ace Jon Tenney, who picked up his second win of the season. The big right hander pitched through a driving rain, striking out six and not allowing a walk in the process.

The Saints offense scored early and often to go up 12-3 after four innings. Rob Linn continued his torrid start with three hits while driving in two runners. Nick Vennochi drove in three with one hit and one walk. Linn was the only South Boston batter to have a multiple hit game, while no batter recorded an extra base hit.

Down 12-3, Brighton battled back with their last three outs, putting up another three runs in the seventh. Mike Maguire, Matt Deeb, and Brandon Klaes all had multiple hits for the powerful Brighton offense.
