Newcomer Mike Stasio picked up his 2nd win of the season, beating John O'Leary in a pitching duel where both arms went the distance. Stasio allowed only 2 hits with 8 K's. Stasio also was backed by some spectacular defensive plays, most notably by rookie Bobby Shady on a difficult bunt to 3rd in the 6th. In the end, Stasio stole the show. After Paul Branche led off the bottom of the 7th with a single, Stasio finished the game by striking out the next three batters to seal the W.
