Tigers 6, Quincy Grays 0
On just 3 days rest, Chad Griffiths pitched a complete game gem as the Tigers earned their first shutout of the season over the Grays.
It would take only 3 hits from the Tigers' offense to get the job done as defense and timely hitting was the story of the day. Silky lead things off in the 1st with a walk and then advanced to 2B on wild pitch. Field then moved Silky over to 3B on a deep fly to LF and Pollard brought him home on a SACF to RF.
That would be all the runs the Tigers needed as Griffiths was able to get himself out of a couple innings on two successful pick off attempts at 1B.
Thanks to the Grays for their diligent work on the field before the game. |
