Rangers 7, Netherfield Reds 1
Behind a crafty performance from Kevin Krueger and some flashy defense, the Rangers beat the Reds 7-1 at Kelley Field. Krueger and batterymate Skypeck went the distance, mixing speeds effectively and scattering 4 hits along the way.
After plating a single run in the first, the Rangers struck for five in the 3rd inning. Al Becker and Bernie Stevens had RBI singles and Brian Delaney drove in a run with a triple.
The Reds hit the ball hard, but great defensive plays by Besegai, Caprio, and Becker held them in check.
The Rangers take the field again on Saturday in historic Chelsea. |
