Harbor Point Dodgers 3, Chelsea Cyclones 1
Shaun Farrar pitched 7 innings of 8 K, 4-hit ball and the Brookline offense got going late for the win in Chelsea vs. the Royals.
SS Jerrad Ryan & LF Joe Patrolia each went 2 for 3, and combined on a relay with C Bryan Duffy in the 6th to get the would-be tying run at the plate. In the 5th, Patrolia hit a clutch triple scoring Ryan, who led the offense with 2 SB, a run and an RBI. Patrolia then scored on a single by 3B Gregg Smith, and Brookline added a late insurance run when PH Steve Walsh walked, stole 2nd, was sac'd to 3rd by Zvi Dubitzky, and scored on a Ryan single.
Farrar allowed only 2 hits after the 1st inning, and the Dodger defense helped hold back the Royals offense. 2B Andy Zides added another web gem, snagging a line drive to end the 6th and the Royals big threat.
For the Royals, Sam Kennedy-Smith pitched 4 1/3 in the loss, striking out 8 and allowing 3 hits. RF James O'Neill was 2 for 3 with an RBI. |
