The Brewers and Nationals met in the season opener for both teams. Pitching dominated the day, as Kevin Christina allowed only two hits while collecting 10 Ks over six innings. Marc Hordon closed out the game for the Brewers, in addition to pacing the offense with three hits and two runs scored. Nationals starter Omar Martinez pitched well, allowing only two runs and collecting seven Ks over the first six innings of his complete game effort. But the Brewers got some insurance in the seventh to solidify the victory.
