Orioles 4, Quincy Grays 3
Kevin Bell earned his first 'W' of the year as the O's continued their playoff push with a dramatic extra-inning win.
The Grays fought hard. Trailing 3-2 heading into the bottom of the 7th, the Grays tied the game on a single by Bill Grossi. The O's then faced a 1st and 2nd situation with nobody out. Bell proceeded to strike out the next two batters. But then Steve Pinner hit a soft looper into shallow left; Jordan Krall sprinted out from SS to make a critical grab and force extra innings.
In the eighth the Orioles answered back immediately. Chris Buckley led off with a single to right-center and then Greg Gallivan drove in what proved to be the winning run with a bomb to left center.
Brian Cosentino pitched very well in defeat, pitching all 8 innings and collecting 12 K's. |
