Cassell Club scored three unearned runs in the top of the sixth and withstood a seventh inning Medford rally to escape Playstead Park with a 6-4 victory. Brian Donahue limited the American offense to a pair of runs through 4.1 innings to record the win for Cassell. Tim Dunphy worked the final 2.1 innings to earn the save. Jeff Keefe fell to 2-1 on the year for the Americans allowing six runs, three earned, over 5.1 innings. The earned runs were the first allowed by Keefe on the season. Kevin Donahue had three of the ten Cassell hits. Tim Dempsey and sizzling Zack Golden had two hits each. Sam Shaughnessy led the American offense with three hits including a double.
