In the first meeting of the season between Medford based Intercity League rivals, Medford Americans and Andre Chiefs, the Americans, down 2-0, rallied for a pair of runs in the home half of the 6th before settling for a 2-2 tie. Marist College bound Medford American RHP, Ryan Maguire, pitched a tidy, 83 pitch, one-hitter through six and helped his cause with a clutch 2 run single up the middle to drive in the tying runs. Mike McCarthy pitched a hitless and scoreless 7th for the Americans to preserve the tie. Merrimack College's Mike Lanciani did his best to match Maguire, allowing only 2 hits to the Americans before being lifted after 5 shutout innings. Merrimack College 3B Mike Andre recorded the only Chief hit with a clean line drive single to center in the 2nd. Maguire, Saint Anselm's Johnny Welch, former Salve Regina OF Steve Napier, Bentley bound Charlie Pagliarulo and Bentley bound Ryan Burke hit safely for Medford.
