The Rockies offense again explodes for double digit runs in a 15-9 victory over the division rival Diamondbacks. Mike McCarthy, acquired from the Pirates during the off-season, started on the hill again and picks up his second victory in as many weeks with his new team. "Puma" was solid for 5 innings allowing nine hits and no walks. The Rockies offense was again very productive with each spot in the order having at least one hit. Gary Moran (4-4, dbl, triple, 3 runs 4 RBI) and Mike Close (3-4, 2 dbls, triple, 3 runs, 2 RBI) put on their own fireworks display at the circle combining for 7 hits (5 for extra bases), 6 runs scored and 6 RBI. Dave Mitrou and Kevin Spitz also added 3 hits and 2 runs scored a piece.
